I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

There always is lawyers and settlements for poisonous Prolia. Short form - they decide. It's very much like reporting to the FDA with the same thing in mind - get this off the market. It seems to me they are looking for people with severe injuries with ONJ and the broken femur. I don't think they care yet about those of us who just feel worse than death itself. That day will come. I'm sure. Merck has over $ billion allotted to pay out claims. Remember Prolia is basically a newbie. I know a guy in NC. His name is Lamb. Be well~Pood

Dont take prolia, it is a dangerous drug and the risks are too high, the benefit will never outway the risks if you get serious side effects and the benefit is lost once you stop taking the drug. Your doctors will deny it even if you have severe side effects including death. They get kickbacks for rx drugs. I talked with my hematologist and he said definitely no to prolia, not that I would ever take it. He said no to hrt for me but if I need it calcitonin and forteo are the best. He said this osteoporosis isn't an emergency. I have time to think about it and to decide what is best for me and what I feel comfortable with.

Tegan! Sadly we can't tell you what to do but I only know that I would NEVER, EVER take Prolia. Not what I saw it do to my dad plus reading all the stories of what it did to many others on this site. It just plain makes me sick. There is nothing that can be done to get this drug out of your system once it's in you IF you should have problems from it. Best of luck in making your heavy decision.

I have severe osteo in my left hip. I have for several years tried to do it on my own, diet and exercise. Now the doc says I have no choice and must go on a med. Saw the endocrinologist and she said to take Actonel, My gp said to take Prolia. I am very afraid of the side effects. Recently I had cellulitis on my arm. Have NO idea how I got it. With antibiotics and having caught it in time, it was quickly cleared up. Prolia shows an increase in cellulits cases. I am the eve of decision making and really dont know what to do.

I really believe my problem is from this drug

If you come off of Prolia and your calcium level is high it will come down providing you are not taking any calcium supplements. Mine is almost back to normal after one year and two months. Your doctor will try to keep you on it but beware it is very dangerous to your body.

Janie - another side effect I'm thinking - my Primary is dead set on me taking more Prolia although I now have to go to an endocrinologist because my calcium is also up. Most common cause is I'm told, problems with parathyroid. I'm very curious to find out if this is another side effect of Prolia, though I've been off for six months, I'm still have symptoms, leaving, returning off and on. Which my Primary says it isn't Prolia but even the Prolia people said they are possible side effects. Sigh.

I forgot to mention earlier when I joined this site that when I stopped Prolia my calcium level was 10.5 and my primary physician took me off of all calcium that I was taking, my calcium level is coming down slowly but not where he wants it to be this of course is in addition to the eczema on legs and red bumps on arms and itching all the time. Acid reflux started when I went on Prolia. I have been treating that and it is improving in addition to sore muscles and bones. It is a disaster what this medicine can do to you and no one should ever take it.

Hi Poodle,
I tried to find the class action suit against Prolia for cancer the only one going is for talcum power. So if you see anything else please let me know. I hope your doing better, this drug is a drug from hell. I have been in remission for 6 months, but with ovarian cancer chances are not good. I am having faith that I can beat this. I have been on a clinical diet study for the last three months, it last 2 years. Hopefully it will help. Thank you for your concern. God bless you.

Canadian~acupuncture, as far as I know, is only for pain relief. Is it not from your Country? What have you heard about acupuncture from elders in China? It changes the 'chi' in the body so it possibly could help a break heal. I've never heard of that in the US. You don't care what your Doctor has to say. You just call to get the email address for Health Canada. Why you want it is none of their business. You do not need a MD to make a statement to Health Canada. You are making the statements yourself and you say on xxx day xxxx Dr. gave me an injection of Prolia. Since that time I have had: (list all of your side effects including the broken femur. In fact, I would put it first on the list. You have had severe and debilitating pain of: xxxx, xxx, xxx, xx, xx, xx, xx, xxx, and despite having appropriate calcium levels in your body you continue to have tingling in the arms and hands. Then look for Amgen Corp. on the net and find a number to call them. They used to have it arranged by drug and then by Country. Repeat everything to Amgen you told to Health Canada. This is why you need a written list so you don't accidentally forget something important. Pood

FDA Post of 3/16: It says that we are at risk of hypercalcemia after quitting Prolia and that bones can continue on growing without it. This is 100% opposite of what Amgen wrote after the first clinical study. Talk about warning creep!!

Good Grief. This is really bad news for the people that have Sjogrens and already have Prolia gone wild. Thank you Kitty!!

I believe I am okay as when I had my hip replaced they kept doing testing and I was always fine. Hope it does not change.

Poodle, can the acupuncture help the self healing of my big thigh fracture (crack). The needle stimulates the muscle/cells as to provide oxygen/energy to the broken part- could it be speed up the recovery period?
I had told all the doctors about what I was suffering. They knew it but just don't wanted to say that was from Prolia. Even the last doctor changed his words "the fracture may not befrom Prolia", he once said it was from Prolia.

Can not encourage you all enough to keep writing letters to the FDA. Talk to all of your doctors and tell them of your experience.

@Canadian~you have to report to Health Canada. That is your version of the FDA. The FDA is only in the US and regulates drugs in the USA. Health Canada regulates drugs in all of Canada. You will have to look on the internet for their complete address where one writes the complains or call your Doctor and tell them you want to contact Health Canada. How do I do it? Make sure you have a written list because you don't want to leave anything out and also call Amgen too as they have to report what is reported to them to the appropriate Federal agency. Hugs~Pood

@healingtree~after I was 1/2 to 3/4 dead and walked into my Drs office she did admit it was the Prolia and she should never have pushed me into it. Apologies all over the place. Then, she got busy to find out what she could do to make me feel better. She ran immunoglobin tests and I had a very low iGa which means Celiac Disease or allergy to wheat, etc. Then I started to get better after switching to rice flour and had top notch pain meds and anything I wanted. Some mess up but they can also care. Will I ever trust her again? NO! She deals in all the biologics and I told her I wanted my T-cells and T-cell helpers counted and she said I would have to pay for that out of pocket as they are only allowed to run that test if there is a high suspicion of HIV-Aids, but she does have an immunologist that works with her. That is what we need access to. Immunologists know how to stop the nasty side effects of Prolia. They can get people with HIV-Aids feeling really well, so they can help us too. This 5-12 months of suffering is needless. Pood

@healingtree~thank you for mentioning acupuncture. I have told people here over and over to use it and I don't think any of them believe me. I cannot say how it works, it just changes 'energy' around in your body so you don't hurt anymore. It is totally painless as the needles they use are so super thin they slide between skin cells. I only had one owie as she had forgotten one in the end of my big toe and dropped a heavy towel on it. That I felt!! Pood
