Prolia And How It Has Affected Me
UpdatedHave had osteopenia for few yrs., recently diagnosed with osteoporosis in lower spine. First prolia inj. Nov. 2013 and felt good for a few months. Then UTI which I rarely ever had before - bladder feels tender all the time. I am now 76. Use treadmill 20 min when able and yoga stretches. Plan to increase exercises regardless and just rest often. After 2nd inj. I had severe reflux for several weeks, then abdomenal pain and bloating, bowel issues. Now Ive had a headache, jaw and face pain for several days. Stiff neck. Nothing has helped it. I suffer from hypothroidism, osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia, so widespread pain is no stranger to me, but this is different. Keep pain Medications to a minimum. Wake up stiff for longer than usual. Currently taking ice packs to bed for burning hands and feet and so many pillows. Still quality sleep escapes me. I will not take Prolia again. Problem is I tried to prevent this condition at a much younger age by taking Fosamax, then Actonel. They both caused bone and muscle pain. I have always been active, walking, roller skating yoga, etc. which all helped control the pain if practiced with caution. What's next. Guess I'll take my chances without the drug, but I will persevere. Good luck to everyone. Doctors don't seem to believe.

Hello, Elfie! How are you feeling? I am so very sorry about the problems you've been having.
Many others have reported similar symptoms from these types of medications, so you are not the first. It's sad that your doctor won't believe you.
How are you feeling, now? Has the pain eased, at all?
I took Prolia one week ago. I couldn't understand why I a so depressed and cry all the time. I have never had trouble with depression before. I am having bladder spasms ,headaches, but I was told as of October this year Medicare has the option of NOT paying for any osteo treatment in a hospital if I do not take the treatment! So i did . I was no going to but it came down to money!!! And I also roller skate!!!! Hopefully can continue I have done it 59 years out of my 65!
Has anyone else been told by there Doctor that Obama care put in place about Medicare not paying for the treatment of osteo related issues if u go to the hospital and you have not taken the shot or treatment??
