Would like to know if anyone had side effects from Prolia but they went away - and how long did it take for that to happen?

AMGEN is the company that makes Prolia and many other drugs. Just key in AMGEN in your search engine and it will take you to their home page. First find the drug Prolia on their list. Then hunt around for the phone numbers which I think were on the bottom right side. The FDA is useless but AMGEN does care about us. They cannot make changes to this poison unless they are flooded by messages from us. Tell the nurse your name, the MD that gave you the injection, when and list ALL of your side effects. If you develop more side effects, call them again. They keep files on each one of us that calls in to complain so do complain loudly and truthfully. Our MDs leave us out in the cold, but the nurses at AMGEN really care. They will also write letters to your MD.

I just submitted a request for the people at lawyersandsettlements.com to look into possible litigation. They answered pretty fast, and am waiting for a follow-up. I just wonder. If over 250 people contact these people, maybe it will get the ball rolling.

Yes I had two shots and had to discontinue. I have shortness of breath and it won't go away. Have been to pulmonary doctor, heart doctor and no answers. It has been over two years since the last shot and no improvement.

Just wanted to get this out there. If you live in Canada a legal firm called Mackenzie Lake did take Merck, pharm to court related to Fosamax and there was a settlement.i am going to contact them on the Prolia issue to see if they have an interest in a class action suit or something like that. Look the Fosamax case up on the internet as it was 2017 I think.

My T-score is -5.3 due to childhood kidney disease. I took Prolia for almost two years. Every time I received an injection, I developed a UTI. Furthermore, I also developed severe dental disease after a lifetime of perfect dental health. I've been off Prolia for 18 months and my kidney function continues to deteriorate. I have no way of proving that is the cause, but I regret ever having a single dose.

There have been many posts about people suffering side effects, which in theory should wear off in a few weeks, but it hasn't worked that way for many.

Prolia has ruined my life. I know it caused my ovarian cancer which spread to my colon and diaphragm. The first layer of my diaphragm was removed and I am finally finished with chemo I have a tightness under by breast. I am going for a cat scan Aug 3rd 2015. I just pray the cancer is in remission. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS SHOT. I will keep this site informed after my scan.

I'm past 3 months and nothing has let up here. I did read an article by the National Institute of Health that stated that Prolia is much worse than they are telling us. It causes the muscles around the jaw to die so that's where that problem comes from and it's supposed to stop fractures but at the same time causes femur fractures. It also causes autoimmune diseases which was a new one for me. They also stated the bone it builds up is very fragile brittle bone so no gain. Bones are made out of more than Calcium and Vitamin D. Just had another blood test done. I've been taking 1200 Calcium with 1000 Vit D twice/day with food and my test was just a tiny bit high so apparently the recommended amount is insufficient. Amgen is only letting out certain side effects -- not all of them. Wonder when I will get well. The rheumatologist that pushed me into Prolia is doing everything in her power to prove it's me, not her beloved Prolia. "You can think what you want about Prolia". Isn't that a nice comment?? I'm considering taking her medical license away on many more grounds than just totally sloppy work on Prolia and according to my pharmacy there are many of us.

Almost 7 months out and I feel about 85% recovered. My health returns in small stages. I go to PT, have therapeutic massages weekly, short excerises 3x day, do water walking 3x week and do not go full steam thru the day. All of the above is done with some difficulty but I am seeing results. My biggest issue is my rheumatologist continues to deny this is from Prolia.

I had a lot of dibilating side effects. I'm 7 months from my last shot & still have hair loss. This drug nearly did me in as bad as chemo. Beware.

One day here will be a "Bad Drug"! Class action Law suit... but no money will ever give me back the last 2 years of my life, nor repay me for the humiliation and emotional pain the doctors have bestowed upon me as they poo-pooed my symptoms and looked at me like I was a hypochondriac ... I stopped working, limit my social life and more due to the pain, IBS, muscle weakness and more. I celebrate each day I move further into Prolia's half lives... and begin to get my life back. It is sad that we all continue to go through private and individualized Hell... each of us is different yet the same-

I have taken Prolia for 5 years my Magnesium bottomed our The side effects has hit my muscles my legs are so week my jawbone hurts have lost two teeth I have been told by two doctors you should not take Prolia more than two years also that the muscle damage is irreversible this Prolia shots have ruined my life we have to fight to get it pulled off the market we are suffering while the drug company gets filthy rich

I have rheumatoid arthritis. I also read that it had not been tested on people with this problem but my dr. gave it to me anyway .
It has destroyed my ligaments in my hands and feet. Now I have a fractured back. I took this shot in May of 2016. I had none of these problems before and I was doing great.. Dr.'s won't believe that Prolia is causing it. I think they may believe but they won't comment.

Yes, thank you. My comments have been so long winded, that I didn't want to cause overload! But if it will help anyone else I'll add this too. I have had chronic persistent sinus infections for approx. 18 months!! up through 2012 I had recieved 4 separate rounds of allergy injections (been sick with asthma and sinuses since I was 2yrs old). I quit work in 2012 and had 3 good years, of NO sinuses infections or exacerbation of asthma. Thank goodness I did not require chemo radiation, but i was started on the arimidex and Zometa (changed to Prolia) -they both do the same thing. I have been on so many antibiotics, throughout my lifetime, the only thing that will even touch the sinus infections anymore is Levaquin (which in itself is a pretty mean drug) I was admitted to the hospital in January 2017 for sinusitis/bronchitis/exacerbation of asthma after taking round and round of antibiotic. Same thing happened in Nov. of 2017. Except, chest xray was negative, my dr. ordered a chest CT (Making sure the breast CA and thyroid CA hadnt metastasized) no tumor or mass, but PNEUMONIA! I worked as nurse at a dr's office for 17 years, and 10 as a school nurse. I do have some knowledege of a lot of this stuff (I heard it put, A little knowledge can do a lot of damage)but in no way do I know it all. I do know what my body feels like and THIS shouldn't be it.

I doubt that you have jumped the gun at all Shirley. I'm just about to jump off the nearest bridge with what I am sure are side effects of prolia with aching jaw, pains in arms and thighs which feel like a bone pain and dry mouth even though I drink lots of water. Not one of my medicos will admit that it can be the Prolia. All they say is 'do you want a broken hip'? I'm pretty sure that they have our best interests at heart but if they could read patient complaints and see that these symptoms need to be suspect then they may change their approach.

Thank you Poodle for sharing your valuable (and painful!) experience with us all. Knowing that I'm not alone, especially in awareness—not in suffering the same, (which I wish none of you had experienced!), has helped me through this... On the 30th of January 2018, it will be 10 months since i received the one and only Prolia injection. Basically, I will remember 2017 as the lost year in my life, because of this pharmaceutical fraud called Prolia. I must say that the use of Prednisone for approximately six weeks, beginning a month after I was poisoned with Prolia, was essential (knowing the many negative side effects it does have), because i had a disabling autoimmune reaction called erythema nodossum, which caused so much pain I couldnt walk and had to use a wheelchair to go to Emergency. The relief happened less than 48 hours after starting on Prednisone and i was able to reduce the dosage after 7 days... The erythemas (on my legs, feet and arms) disappeared and kind of ‘wanted to come back’ by the end of the first cycle ...but very mild.

Today I’m still dealing with hyperthyroidism and on Tapazole daily for it; I have a dysthyroid ophthalmopathy with aesthetic and visual implications, dental problems (lost one tooth for no apparent reason on the 23rd of december); my skin has a rough and funny texture. Im still loosing my hair by the hundreds a day, my nails are soft like onion skins, I have no energy and Im always tired and unmotivated. As if all these were not enough, I was recently diagnosed with a “mild aortic stenosis” which Im positive is related to this poison. I’ve exercised intensely all of my life (spinning and weights), don’t smoke, eat very healthy, never had cholesterol problems (always had good LDL/HDL balance), never had high blood pressure and have not eaten red meat since 2010... For all of this, I was in shock to hear my ECG showed cardio arteries are mildly blocked!!! My Drs. of course don’t believe any of this is related to ‘Prolia (or is it that they dont want to recognize it?)... This is my 10th-month update. My dream is to be able to come back next month with a happier update. In the meantime I wish you all a healthier 2018... Be well.

Thank you for the info. I just found out there was a survey done to compare the three groups: No Side Effects, Minor Side Effects & Major Side Effects. The last group numbers are huge in comparison. I hope something legal happens. I, (among many, I’m sure), had a hopeless year in 2017. I am an independent professional who was unable to work most of the year...furthermore, I incurred many expenses due to the illnesses caused by this poison.... 2018 so far is not going any better... In the meanwhile, this company continues to make huge profits at the expense of thousands of innocent patients who believed their MD’s knew better... Good luck to you.

I'm just sick about my hair falling out. I'm about to make an appointment with a dermatologist and will see if I can get any helpful information while I am there. If I learn of anything helpful I will pass it on.

I think it stays in our system for a long time but not sure. I've been bullied into taking it now for about 3 years but will never have another shot no matter what. The only person who agrees with me that my aching jaw and thigh bones could be an adverse effect of Prolia is my physiotherapist who I saw for the first time this week. He is going to try and help me with bone strengthening exercises so we will wait and see. I contacted Amgen (Australia) last week and had a phone call the same day from a rep who agree that these could be side effects but who then said that they are very rare, insinuating that it couldn't possibly be my problem. Really? She asked for the name of my GP which I refused to give her. Did she want the first guy who prescribed Prolia and who told me when I reported my aching jaw that it was neuralgia without even investigating if that was the case.Or did she want the second GP who bullied me into having it at least twice.I should have woken up after the first one but you really trust your medicos. Now I'm on the third GP who thinks that I don't understand my health condition and said so to the physiotherapist. I have not heard anything back from Amgen and do not expect to. It's a worry to think that we cannot trust our health professionals. My physio says that the Doctors just don't have the time or inclination to check our our complaints or even to believe us.
