Prolia Side Effects Duration (Page 11) (Top voted first)
UpdatedWould like to know if anyone had side effects from Prolia but they went away - and how long did it take for that to happen?
Re: Norma (# 250)
THanks for posting. I am not going to take my next shot so it is encouraging to read of others who are determined to overcome the effects.
My hip was so damaged-pain finally went away. So a year free, and now the same hip, same awful pain - - is back. I just feel emotionally wrung out fighting this, it should not be permanent, but apparently it is.
Re: Maritere (# 254)
Thank you for this information! My immune system was already compromised.
I have some updates from the last time I posted here. I've had asthma from the time I was 10 years old. Because of Prolia I have chronic bronchitis and chronic asthma which is now classified as COPD. I am so angry about this. There is no cure for COPD (and I've never smoked). My pulmonologist was surprised to learn I wasn't a smoker, yet I have COPD. She wondered how I got it. I told her it was the Prolia and where to find the information.
The eczema is still on my lower legs but it isn't as bad as when I first got it.
I already had a dang laundry list of chronic conditions and Prolia has made everything so much worse. The information everyone shares I'm so grateful for, as well as the support.
Hugs to all!
Nikki
Re: Nikki (# 256)
My mother died after six months after the first shot prolia. She was a dialysis patient and would undergo a kidney transplant. When she was completely paralyzed then they let the transplant continue only to disguise the thruth. My brother was the donor.
Criminals!

I thought the list would help you pinpoint where other issues were coming from. I hope the information helps others, too.
Re: Verwon (# 1)
It has been two years since my last shot and I now feel like a new person, finally. Not only that, but my blood tests indicate that I am NOT losing bone! My thyroid problems have finally stabilized, although I now have high cholesterol because of it. This was achieved through diet and exercise.
Hang in there, there is hope.
Re: Sal (# 262)
That is really encouraging... perhaps there is an end in sight! I a only 5 months out and new stuff keeps cropping up... but perhaps, over time things will normalize.
Re: Nikki (# 269)
Best wishes to you, I hope it helps you as much as it is helping me.
This morning, I tripped and fell, to my surprise, I got right back up again instead of going to bed with ice and anti inflammatories. That was enough of a surprise, but I moved up to the next level after Beginners, which is Bone Strengthening !
Re: Sal (# 271)
Hi Sal,
I'm gluten intolerant and have a couple of other digestive issues. With all of the infections I'm getting I'm taking two kinds of probiotics, my gastroenterologist doesn't know this yet. *But* I think it's helping. It sure doesn't seem to be hurting anything.
I keep lots of Nature's Way Umcka around the house due to all the respiratory and allergy/sinus problems and it helps a lot.
My chronic fatigue is bad. I'd love to give it to the one's responsible for putting Prolia on the market and telling the doctors how wonderful it is. It would be my free gift to them.
I have to get better. I'm getting a puppy in a few weeks. We've got walks to go on and I'm going to try and train him as my service dog. My sweet Cairn mix, Sparky was my service dog and he was an amazing doggie. Sal, your exercise program along with my Zumba should get me into dog walking shape. Besides, I've got lots of books to write this year. Who's got time to be sick?
Hugs to you and everyone here!
Nikki
Re: Nikki (# 272)

Keep me posted on your progress,; Congratulations on your new Service Dog.
What is the half-life of Prolia and how long does it really stay in your body?
Re: Sal (# 262)
What did you do to get over prolia?? I am still suffering from this poison. Can you please tell me.
Thank you!
Debbie
Re: Debbie (# 282)
Hi Debbie, I was on prolia for two years and never again. I had all over pain from head to toe, muscles, joints and bone pain. I had swelling in my feet, ankles and hands and kept putting on weight. I have been off about a year and half now. two months after my last shot I decided no more and I used a good hemp cbd oil. the first week I started sleeping better and gradually the pain got better. for me I believe it really helped. everyone is different. check with your doctor if you should consider trying it as it may affect any meds you are on now. its worth looking into
Re: Nikki (# 288)
Good for you ! I hope you will feel empowered, and grow stronger.
Re: Dawn (# 290)
It took me two years to recover. I did not recover completely though. My joints, especially wrists and fingers, ankles and toes are still very painful and misshapen. I know I couldn’t have developed Osteoarthritis overnight, but in a matter of months I went from
no symptoms to severe symptoms. I do NOT advise this medication except in a few cases such as : Bone cancer that is a metastasis, someone who is on long term steroids
or someone who drinks alcohol excessively, for example.
Re: Marion (# 263)
I was told that the side effects of Prolia were rare, too. I told them about this website and it didn't sound like side effects were rare to me.
The pulmonary doctor has been the only to not poo-poo my strong suggestion that the issues are from this deadly drug.
Re: merle64 (# 11)
First and only inj 4 months ago. Three 3 months after injection I started with headaches. The had my teeth cleaned and my teeth hurt for days. Anf my jaw bone hurt. I will not take any of these osteoporosis drugs again. How long does it take to leave your system!
Re: Betty (# 303)
It took three years for relief of the muscle pain, weakness, spasms, etc to resolve.
My joint seem to be permanently deformed and painful.
Worst drug I ever took. I strongly advise against it. I always swore I would never take the Osteo drugs, but I allowed myself to be frightened into it.
My first shot was in a July of ‘16. Within a short time I had severe muscle pain and weakness plus joint pain in my hands and feet. I went to three doctors and they blew me off telling me it was ‘ Just your Fibro”, having had Fibro since long before it was recognized I knew that was not the case; they all insisted it could not be from Prolia. Finally I went back to my physiatrist in NY, who treats with Yoga. He immediately ordered blood work. My calcium level was dangerously low, my Parathyroid gland dangerously high. Like a fool, I took another shot in January of ‘17, then no more. The symptoms of pain weakness and extreme fatigue continued. It was so bad I could not exercise. It was not until January of this year that it began to resolve, not, however for my feet and hand joints.
Now I am finally exercising and following Save Our Bones.
This is a potent, powerful drug with serious side effects. I advise against it.
Worst drug side effects I have ever experienced.
It gadd sex taken 4tears to resolve the extreme muscle pain, tightness and weakness. The joint pain is permanent. I strongly advise against this drug.
