Prolia & Hair Loss (Page 23) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI've just recently had my second Prolia shot. So far so good...a little back pain. I continually have stress fractures on my feet and have also taken fosamax. My current problem is hair loss & I wondered if anyone else was having that problem?
Re: Cecelia (# 389)
Google it. He has a hair salon in California. BioMethod. It is made in Italy for hair loss vitalizing, Dht balancing & Seborrhea. Love my thick hair.
Re: Lala (# 407)
I hate it for you. I am a year with no shot but still losing hair which is thin. I think there is hope as women who have undergone rigorous chemo do grow their hair back. That does not help the daily emotional downer of dealing with it though.
Re: Lizzie (# 414)
Denosumab (Prolia) was manufacture by a company called Amgen which is one the world's largest biotechnology company and was established in Newbury California in 1980. I'm not sure if this truly the right answer to your question Lizzie but hope it helps.
Re: Lavettah Brewer (# 417)
I hate it for you! I have wrestled with the hair and had some mouth pain along the jawline but so far have not lost any teeth. Dermatologist found a rash in my scalp that he thinks led to the hair loss... all kinds of bumps and itching. Prolia does cause rashes so maybe that is the link... am using scalp cleansing shampoo.. still shedding but not as much.
I am still having hair lose. Also still losing teeth. Now Thyroid panel (Blood Work) shows my thyroid is not functioning like it should, and Prolia shot can cause thyroid cancer, can destroy thyroid. So now my doctor is trying to figure out what to due.
Re: Lavettah Brewer (# 425)
how many shots did you take? I took one shot a year and a half ago... had the hair loss.. coming back slow but sure; had a parathyroid tumor... don't know if it is linked but Prolia can create hypocalcemia which evidently masked the fact that my calcium was, in actuality, high.. which is a sign of parathyroid problems. It is like an endless cycle. I am so sorry you are feeling the extreme reactions you are enduring.
Re: Lavettah Brewer (# 425)
I think there has been enough said about this killer it needs to disappear. I think who every said put it on the market selling should have to fix all the people it has destroyed it may have helped a few, it would be. My hair is so thin I have been looking at wigs.been back on antibiotics for teeth again. I’m going to wind up on baby food.
Re: Marilyn (# 420)
Me too Marilyn. Rebound fractures we now have to be hyper vigilant about? For Gods sake! Would any of us, knowingly, take a drug where the bad side effects outlast the drug in your body? Possibly by years?
Doesn’t the Oath that Doctors take begin with “First, Do No Harm”? What happened to THAT idea?
I still am losing hair, long ones from the scalp, since taking 2 shots of Prolia. Was supposed to have 3d shot in January, did not. Wonder when it will abate?? ????
Re: Bubbles01 (# 424)
Hi, Darcy here. How are you coming along? Hair getting better? At least a few side effects abating?
I hope so as its awful when it seems nothing is working to right these wrongs done to us.
Are you happy with taking the Algecal and Strongtem?
Three months in on my 1st shot, I started on Dr Gundry’s plant Paradox eating plan and feel it has help to spare me of the severity of some of my side effects. I am a fan of eating that keeps us in an alkaline state.
I read here that Prolia is made from CHINESE HAMSTER OVARIES. And now we also gave the Wuhan Virus to avoid. God help us.
Re: Anne (# 20)
Thanks for all the info. I think I will skip it. I already have many of the problems mentioned, so guess they would only get worse. I am not Anne.
Four months after 1st shot and loosing large amounts of hair. Scary...
Yes hair loss is another side effect from prolia... pls read all the side effects... there are lots...
Re: Christine (# 29)
I’ve started having incredible hair loss after Prolia injection. I will never have another injection. I am so depressed. I had NO idea this was yet another side effect.
Re: Viv (# 453)
NEVER AGAIN!!!!
Re: Lizzie (# 455)
I’m so sorry to hear that…. I am just so depressed about all of this! It just makes me sick to my stomach. Is your shampoo working for you? And, if so, what brand?
Re: Lizzie (# 457)
Thank you, Lizzie! I appreciate your help with product. I’ve been crying a lot about the hair loss. It really is devastating for women and men but especially women.
Definitely hair loss is a major side effect for me cause the hair loss is a LOT!!!
Re: Dawn (# 436)
That’s the way I felt about Forteo. I know these are not the same drug.
I thought the side effects would never stop.
Re: Kaye (# 464)
I only had one shot… tons of hair loss! That was it for me!!!
Also, ended up with TMJ!!! Never again!!!
