I am having side effects (joint pain, jaw pain and dizziness) from procardia. Are there any substitutions with less side effects?

Procardia contains the active ingredient Nifedipine, which is a calcium channel blockers that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions and these are well known to cause these types of side effects in some people.

And yes, there are many other similar medications on the market that treat the same conditions, but in other classes that might work better for you.

Have you talked to your doctor about it? They should be able to prescribed a different medication that won't cause these types of symptoms.

One that's known to cause fewer side effects, in most people is the drug Carvedilol:

I took it for over a year and had no side effects from it, at all and I'm very sensitive to most medications.
