Problem With Metformin Absorption
UpdatedI take two metformin at a time in the a.m. & p.m. I have noticed the tablets do not dissolve when I go to use the toilet. Am I getting the full effect of the medication, being that the tablet is still whole when excreted? Thank you.

Yes, some tablets are coated and time released, so what you are actually excreting is just the shell, but the medication is released and absorbed.
The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, diarrhea, and flatulence.
Is there anything else I can help with?
