Private Methadone Doctors In The New Orleans Area

I'm looking for a compassionate doctor that will prescribe methadone in the New Orleans metro/Metairie area. Currently being treated at the UMC Medical Center in New Orleans for HIV. I'm prescribed Stribild, Adderall & Buprenorphine but I want to switch from Buprenorphine to Methadone. Please help!!!

Under current law, Methadone can only be prescribed for addiction treatment in a clinical setting by those specially trained in its use for such, thus it would be illegal for a private doctor to prescribe it. Thus, a clinic is your only option.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
