Pristiq Making Me Aggressive

Updated March 16, 2013

I have been on Pristiq for about a year, after being on Zoloft for about 4. Zoloft was making me like a zombie, but ever since I've been on Pristiq, my wife and I fight, and I am barely able to control myself to the point I have now been physical with her, and I hate myself for this. I am sure it's the drugs, but probably me too.

Hi Dave,

From what I could gather, any signs of aggression you're experiencing are more than likely due to Pristiq. Agitation was listed as a side effect on some webpages, but there are also other side effects that in my opinion could eventually lead to having a short temper.

A list of side effects can be found here:
nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a608022.html#side-effects

It may be a good idea to try a more natural approach to getting rid of depression, if this is your reasoning behind taking Pristiq. That way you can at least be less concerned about some of those undesirable side effects. A regular medical doctor probably wont recommend or suggest anything natural since they wont get paid for it, but if you have a good doctor, he or she should at least be accommodating to your needs.

I hope this helps!
