My husband has been taking prilosec for years and he always wakes up with a swollen face. I thought it was because he does not get enough sleep at night or any other time. Does your swelling go away after you have been up for awhile or does it continue into the afternoon?
If you are experiencing unexplained facial swelling, then it is very important to consult your doctor, as that could be the sign of an allergic reaction to the medication, or something else in your environment.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of Prilosec as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, gas, and constipation.

Are you taking any other medications?
