Price Increase 600%
UpdatedWhy did Hydrocodone/Acet 10/375 increase 600% since last year? I have been taking the medication for over 13 years after a 6 doctor team labored for months com up with something that would relieve my lifelong pain from a 2-story fall. I have been paying $6.00 /mo for 270 tablets, until this year. I went to pick up my refill an it was $35. Insurance moved it from Tier 2 to Tier 3 with no explanation. Does anyone know how to find out why this happened, did Exxon.Mobil buy the company?

Hi Doug,
Perhaps it's simply supply and demand, lately it seems as though there has been a steady increase in patients needing narcotic pain medication such as Vicodin. Have you compared prices with any other pharmacies in your area?
My god, at either of those prices I'd be jumping up and down in glee. I pay over $65 for 120 of them.
LOL...I'm on Medicare and fortunately don't have a copay for hydrocodone at any strength but I'm with you. $35 for 270, I'd quit complaining and start being grateful. Do you have any idea how much those cost out of pocket?
Since hydrocodone combination meds were moved to a Schedule II, the security and paper work has increased. That means increased costs for everyone from the company that supplies the hydrocodone to the pharmacist that dispenses it and the clerk that rings it up.
I have been on hydrocodone a long time b4 i recieved medicare & had to pay cash for my scrpt prices ranged from 15$ to over 100$ for same script @ several drug stores within a 20 mile area.
Are you at all concerned about the huge amount of Tylenol (acetaminophen) that you are taking on a daily basis? 3,375 mg per day? I do hope your physician is checking your liver function regularly.
