Prescription Written In Missouri Can I Fill In Florida

I am going on vacation in Florida to a wedding. I have a prescription for oxycontin written by much doctor in Missouri. Can I get my prescription filled in Florida?

It is very doubtful, many people that live in Florida are having problems getting their prescriptions for controlled substances filled there.

There are restrictions on how much of them that a pharmacy can order and have in stock each month, this had made it necessary for them to restrict filling such prescriptions to only those who live within a certain radius of their location and whose doctors practice within that radius, as well. This also makes it easier for them to validate the prescription.

The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Does anyone have any ideas that might help?
