About 5 years ago I was very anemic-hemeglobin count was at 8.3 and a doctor prescribed an iron prescription for a 30 day supply at the cost of $27.00. It worked wonders for energy. It was a red tablet-rather large. I think the name of it started with a (V) but not for sure. Can anyone tell me what this was?

That's really not a whole lot to go on.

However, since it was for anemia, which is usually also improved with other nutrients, such as B vitamins that can help you absorb iron better, the relatively low price, your description and the fact that you said it gave you an energy boost, my best guess is that it was just a multivitamin with iron.

Possibly, a prenatal, since they are fairly cheap and contain large amounts of many very vital nutrients, including iron and folic acid.

I'm sorry I don't have any idea of the name for you, but there are many available, some require a prescription, but many are available over the counter.

Do you still see the same doctor? If so, they should have the records for you.
