What are the specifics of the prescription? Has it been prescribed to be taken ever 6 to 8 hours regularly? Or has it been directed that you only take it as needed? I'm sorry, but the answer depends on this additional information.

That's 3-4 per day. If you take 4 per day(1 every 6 hours) (24 hours in 1 day); 40 divided by 4 = 10 days. If you take 3 per day(1 every 8 hours) (still 24 hours in 1 day); 40 divided by 3 =13 days, with 1 pill left for the 14th day. Most doctors say that's a 10 day supply because you'll most likely take 1 every 6 hours as opposed to 8 hours, they don't last that long. I hope this is clear enough for everyone to understand
