A doctor gave this to my 11yr. old whom had never taken it before. It was a very high dosage and she had a seizure the very next morning after one dose. ## I very sorry your 11yr old daughter had a seizure. My doctor had told me that seizure could be a side effect. I truly believe that since this drug is very dangerous, a person no matter what the age is needs to start with 1mg first and blood test must be done within 24hrs. Again, sorry that this happen.

My mom suffers from cirousus of the liver and has rec bleeding which passes from her stomach .She has auto immuine also. Last year she had 8 bld transfusions. But when her blood gets low they always try prednisone . She also is diabetic this makes her sugar sky high is there no other way to treat this issue???? ## Prednisone is a corticosteroid and it is used to treat many conditions. That said, when trying something for treatment, her doctors must take all of her health problems and other medications under consideration, before prescribing something. This may be the safest for her to use for this problem. The rising blood sugar is a normal side effect, along with: weight gain, nausea and drowsiness. You can read more on it here: Have you tried discussing it with her doctors?
