i sometimes get confused with my prednisone pills i am taking both 1mg and 10mg and they are both close very close in apperance and size. can i coat them by put some chocolate powder sugar so i can eliminate taking the wrong dose? what do you recommend. ## Have you asked your pharmacist for ideas? I'd think that anything that marked them, without making them damp, so they'd start to dissolve would be fine. You'd also want to avoid something that would make them stick together, so I do have concerns about the sugar, because it could sometimes do that. I wonder if a good coloring pen, would work, since it would be something that you could use to mark them, without making them really wet? I know that everybody has different reactions to drugs, but I have to ask if what my daughter is going through is similar to anyone else's experience. My daughter is 4 years old and has been diagnosed with minimal change nephrotic syndrome. She is currently halfway through a 12 week cycle of prednisone. Of course her face is swollen. We expected that. Her appetite has increased. We expected that. The thing that is concerning to me is that she has seemed kind of down and "mopey" for the past couple of days. She made the comment that she is having trouble putting her shoes on because her belly gets in the way. Could it be that her weight gain is causing her to be depressed? Does a 4 year old even think like that? This medicine seems to have changed her a lot, and I cannot wait...

I have trouble telling the difference between my 25 mg tablet of metoprolo by Ranbaxy and my 5 mg tablet of prednisone by West-Ward. How can I easily tell the difference when in my pill case? ## Take a closer look at the imprints on them, the imprints are on the tablets and usually placed on most prescriptions labels, as well. The 25mg Metoprolol from Ranbaxy should have the marking RE 79 on it. The 5mg Prednisone has the marking WEST-WARD 475. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Just because you're taking generics doesn't mean that you cannot ask for the same generic company for your meds. Perhaps you could ask your doc to Rx both meds from the same generic company. The Metropolol and the pred 5 from Ranbaxy (for example) do not look alike.

My daughter doesn't wantt to stop breastfeeding but lately ive been getting sick and have been prescribed penicilin , prednisone, and sulfameth/tmp ds tabs im a bit worried what side effects she may get i want to know but no one can explain she uselly just takes it at night twice will it hurt her if i take my meds before 9 am ## The packaging warning label for Rephresh Pro-B states the following: "CONTAINS MILK. I have developed a rash which has moved to different parts of my body until I itched all over. Dermatologist prescribed strong prednisone cream which made rash leave for about two weeks. now it's back and she thinks oxybutnin is the cause as it's the last new medication given to me. Has anyone else had a bad rash while on oxybutnin? It's a flat red rash which itches plus development of skin tags. ## From the detailed medication information, it has been known to cause these types of rashes in 2 to 5% of patients that use it. Have you consulted your doctor about switching to a different medication?

I felt dizzy and my doctor said I have excess fluid behind right ear. I was given prednisone. The next morning I cant walk, no balance, I have to hold on to something to walk. I spoke with my doctor and she said that this is normal. Is it? ## Your doctor should have told you that you had vertigo and that prednisone can sometimes help. The side effects you were experiencing are created by vertigo, which can be quite nasty. Your equilibrium is messed up, you go one way and your body goes the other way. In Canada we have only one drug that is allowed in to treat vertigo and that is called Serc. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. I have been tested for lupus an ANA test came back positive. In the mean time I hurt my back, they gave me methylprednisone. They want to retest for the lupus but I don't want to take the blood test with prednisone in my system. ## Is there some reason you're concerned about the Prednisone affecting the test? Some drugs may do so, but if they know you are taking it, then should know the proper way to do the tests and interpret them accordingly. pills expired in 2008- are they still good to treat poison oak in August 2011 ## Certain drugs are actually okay to take after expiration, whereas others such as antibiotics can become toxic. My personal assumption is that it lost a good percentage of its potency by now, having been 3-4 years old. I would also check with your doctor or pharmacy to make sure that you're using the most effective treatment option for poison oak. It may still be effective, but not nearly as potent. It's also impossible to give a direct answer to this question, since each medication can effect people differently. Little Round White Pill With V On One Side And 50 95 on Other ## Can you please double check the imprint? There is a 5093 V and a 5094 V, but nothing for the 5095. Both of the pills I mentioned contain the steroid Prednisone, in 5 and 10mgs respectively.

They can vary in size, color, shape and imprint. The only guidelines for pills from the FDA says the imprints have to be unique for identification purposes. My mother aged 58 is suffering from inflammatory bowel diseases from last three years. now as she is regularly taking medicines this is in control, but now his right leg slowly starts working. she is unable to lift it up. their is nothing in x ray, after mri doc suggest that this may be because of omnacartil and should be operate. what should i do ## Omnacortil contains the active ingredient Prednisone, which is a steroid class medication and it can cause hip pain as a severe side effect. i have prednisone pill 20mg and i have the old prednisone 20mg pill the old one are bigger y is this? ## The newer pill is newer for a reason; they are just improving their manufacturing process it sounds like. The same can be said for a computer harddrive (not that I'm trying to compare a computer to a pill), but when they first came out with them they were huge and had even less memory than the smaller one's today. It all comes down to using more efficient manufacturing procedures. There will always be new advances in technology and in pharmaceutical drugs alike that make things smaller than their predecessor while holding the same amount of material or more.
