After 2 years on Prednisone at 10mg for RA I'm worried about tapering off and how to do it. My Dr. has moved and I'm not seeing one now. Trying to handle on my own.....Advice, please. ## Hello, Mimi! Taking this amox tr-k clv 875-125 mg tasan after two days in hospital for pneumonia. 2ea per day/7 days, plus Decreasing Prednisone tablet regimine. On third dose I began coughing up mucus with large amount of blood in mucus. Before this I had no cough or mucus. Is this a side effect. I have not taken a forth dose. Today is a Saturday so I will contact my Dr. on Monday. Is it safe for me to stop taking after 3 doses as it states not to stop until all pills are taken. ## Hello, Norman! How are you doing? I have been on Prednisone for 3 months, taking 10mg a day. It was not for a pain condition, but rather to aid and support pregnancy. Now that I am 12 weeks pregnant, they are tapering me off. I am to go from 10mg to 5mg for a week, then 2.5mg for a week, then cease. I have been reading up on tapering and a LOT of people refer to dropping 1mg at certain intervals. Is going to 5mg then 2.5mg too fast? I'm unsure whether other people who are dropping 1mg do so because they were on a higher dose initially, but I did wonder..... Obviously i do not want to go into adrenal shock, particularly with the pregnanct. Just because symptoms went away, that doesn't mean that problem has resolved, yet, so you may end up right back where you started, if you don't finish the medication. What is the best time to take my 6 pills, i know i have to take it with food but should i take it first thing in the morning or wait till supper time. I see one side affect is trouble sleeping, so wondering if that can be avoided by when i take it. Also he has me taking it for 14 days at the same dose. I read you need to slowly go off this drug. My 20mg prednisone tablets have no expiration date. How long will they maintain their potency and life stored at room temperature around 78 to 82 degrees in fairly dry conditions? ## Hello, Gerry! If they are still in the original sealed bottle from the factory, then they have a 3 to 4 year expiration date, if kept in a cool, dark, dry location, which would be less than the temperature you've mentioned. If they are in a pharmacy bottle, which exposes them to the elements that cause degradation, then the expiration date is one year from the date they were dispensed to you. I am halfway thru a 10 day course of prednisone for pneumonia. Iam feeling much better except that I have developed a weird feeling as of an overinflated balloon. My body feels very tight. on vacation i caught a cold. week later felt good and went swimming in outdoor pool. could not get the water out of my ears. Hear that i should not have used a Q-tip.ENT cleaned out ears and put me on one week of prednisone 20mg 1x a day and Amox tr-k clv 875-125mg tabs twice daily and triamcinolone 55mcg nasal spray twice a day. My problem is that my ears are still clogged almost like wearing ear muffs. There was never any pain. How long before my ears are unblocked and should i continue to clean out earwax at home. This started in the pool on Jan 5th and doctor on Jan 9th. Follow up is on Jan. 17th. Also, any questions i need to ask my doctor? Hi I am freaking out. I am on 30 mg per day of prednisone. I take it in the morning around 7 am but accidentally took it again at 6 pm. I tried to vomit it up immediately but do not believe it worked as no pill showed up. I have been diagnosed with bell's palsy. I took 60 mg of Prednisone daily for 5 days. I still have dizziness so bad I can hardly walk. How long does this dizziness last? How long ago where you diagnosed with it? Most people do recover and many have great improvement as early as 10 days after the onset.

I get and allergy for something I eat. Not sure what and I have a sore right foot heel every morning I get out of bed. After I have walked a bit it goes away. I also get it when I get up after I have sat down for while My.Doc has prescribed 1 every morning. I have now picked up so much weight around my belly which I can not get rid of. I retain a lot of water aswell and get very thirsty. Is this medication causing this terrible upsetting problem. I have 20mg prednisone tablet 3 tabs daily x3days, 2tabs dailyx3 then 1 tab daily 3x daily. This is going to be 2 strong for me can it be cut down the dose or can I cut the pills.? I have taken the 4mg methylprednisolone before and that was strong . So I know that I will not be able to take this much. ## Hello, Frog! How are you doing? I have had problems with my feet and legs swelling for over 10 years. Recently, I was placed on Prednisone by the doctor for possible RA. The fluid retention in my feet and legs have gone down considerably. I know that this is not the normal side effect taking this medication. Could you possibly tell me the ingredient that could be causing this?
