Prednisone 5mg Timing

Have been given a 4 tablets daily for 5 days for server bug bites. Should I take them as stated or reduce after 2 days so it would be 3 on 3rd day 2 on 4th day then 1 for the remainder of the pills. I hear these should be tapped off or maybe not for just a 5 day period.

No, they only need to be tapered if taken in high doses for over 21 days.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, insomnia, nervousness, acne and fluid retention.
