Prednisone 20mg - 3 Tablets Once Daily - What Does This Mean?

Hi. I have been prescribed prednisone 20 mg. On the bottle it says take 3 tablets once daily. Does this mean i take 3 at 1 time?

Hi - Prednisone is typically prescribed in a weaning dose. Example - take 3 tablets once a day. That means take them all at once. Then the prescription should tell you when to start taking 2 tablets once a day and so on. You need to wean off prednisone and other steroids, so you start with the larger dose (taken all at once), and then step down your dosage as prescribed, until your prescription is finished. Always take it all at once unless otherwise directed.

I am prescribed Prednisone 10mg take 3tablets by mouth one time daily for 5days do I take them all at once I'm confused

As someone who is taking prednisone often on, I can honestly tell you that long-term use of prednisone is not healthy and it leads to massive weight gain

I have been given a script for 4 tabs daily for 4 days, 3 tabs daily for 3 days, 2 tabs daily for 2 days than 1 tab for 1 day.
I understand the last part but the first 7 days slow me up I had Gastric Sleeve done 2 years ago would all of of the tabs irritate my stomach?

Yes. My husband got some prescribed today. The bottle said "Take 3 tablets once a day every day." I was a bit shocked as most prescriptions I would get was a tier down method. Take 2 pills at breakfast, 2 pills after lunch,, 1 at Supper & 1 before you go to bed. The next day would be 1 after breakfast,, 1 after lunch, 1 a .supper, 1 before bed. Next day.. 1 at breakfast 1 at supper & 1 at bedtime., Next day, one at breakfast & 1 at dinber. And that would work great. My concern is the way it is prescribed that he is going to have a hard time on the 8th day when your body is expecting more. Withdrawal issues.

I was giving Prednison 10mg tablets. It says take 3 tablets daily X 3 days, 2 daily X 3 days, 1 daily X 3 daily then stop

I have an upper respiratory coughing, hoarse condition. 20 mg Prednisone was perscribed.3x first day, 2x 2-4 days. should the first 3 be taken at the same time?

Ladies, please be aware of long-term use. In my ignorance and the Dr. an *****, I now have severe osteoporosis. I have 2 failed spinal surgeries and need a total hip replacement, 2 new knees, and a new ankle. I spend my days in bed screaming in pain since the "epidemic". Don't only research thru the manufacturer, but outside sources.

I was confused as well and had same question as the prescription said take 3 tablets once daily. I called pharmacist and he confirmed take all 3 tablets together at one time daily for 5 days. Also, was advised to take it with food.

Yes...it means to take them all at the same time. It would say- take 1 (one) 20mg tablets po tid....which means take 1 tab, by mouth, three TIMES a day if he wanted you to take it at 3 separate times.

I call my pharmacist and he said to call my the doctor, but my doctor said that it wasn’t safe but I have to make a decision to come or not??? but I had went to emergency room! They charge me 1,000 just already and didn’t want to go back because their is another 1000. So that why I am reading to see if other people have done it
