How to gradually reduce 40mg daily dosage of deltacotril having taken this for 3 days. Unsure if GP said to reduce by 10mg or 20 mg daily. Thanks ## Hi, Ann! Calling your GP to check is never a bad idea. However, I doubt that it was a 20mg reduction, such tapering is usually done in 5 or 10mg increments, but you should definitely call them to check and be sure. It's really for your own health and safety, since there are serious risks associated with the sudden withdrawal of a high dose. Is there anything else I can help with? I'm taking yeduc but my asthma is acting up can I drink prednisolone (steroid) it helps my lungs? ## Yeduc contains the active ingredient Sibutramine; and you should probably be informed that it has been pulled from the market in most countries, due to the severe cardiac events it can cause, which have resulted in some deaths. If you are going to use it, it is very important to watch for any signs of this, that may include: accelerated heart rate and pulse, breathing problems, chest pains and etc. I thinking that this could also be the reason why it seems like your asthma has been "acting up". With that said, I'd just encourage you to talk to your doctor about it's safety before taking it with anything else. I hope this helps!

Can my 3 year old take over the counter cough medicines while on prednisolone? ## HI Renea, If you let me know which exact cough medicine you are thinking about giving your child, I can look up the exact ingredients and check for any interactions. However, I did run a preliminary google search to see if Prednisolone can be combined with any of these common OTC cough medicine ingredients: Dextromethorphan, Codeine, Guaifenesin, Pseudoephedrine - and found that there are no unsafe interactions. I hope this helps! ## Similasan

I took my 4 year old to the dr yesterday for a really bad cough & low grade fever. The dr said his lungs sounded clear, no weasing or anything like that. She told me to keep doing what I was doing. Giving him Motrin for the fever & Robitussin for the cough. She also tested him for the flu and that was negative. Last night he coughed NON STOP all night. At one point he was coughing so hard he vomited. This morning I called the drs office to see about getting him some prescription strength cough meds to help supress his cough since the over the counter ones were clearly not working. Well, the dr that treated him yesterday was off today so they told me I would need to bring him back in. So I did. I told the new dr what was going on with him, the non stop coughing & she listened...

In 2006 I had kidney transplant and for seven years i have been prescribed prednisolone combined with my other anti rejection meds In August 2012 I was laying on the bed, and when i opened my eyes, my right eye was shadowed - the central vision had gone very suddenly Further investigations with eye clinics revealed a build up of fluid behind my right eye and this was due to long term use of the medication prednisolone. Even with draining, my vision is unlikely to get any better. Yesterday i spoke to my hospital and asked why I was never warned of these risks and i was told that very few doctors know of these particular and rare side effects and of those who do, it is rarely mentioned as they do not wish to upset the patient. So to all of the patients out there like me who's sight ha...

I have kidney problem with about 3.2 gm protein discharge daily. Doctor had suggested taking Prednisolone 120 mg A/D.With the first doze itself, I had serious chest pain. Later on another nephrologist suggested me taking Defcort 30 mg x 21/2 tablets daily. I am afraid due to the first exprience with Prednisolone. I am a heart patient having undergone angioplasty already. Please advise.I am also taking medicine for BP.and diabetese. ## Did the doctors say the chest pain was caused by the Prednisolone? If so, then that would be a good sign that it is not safe for you to use. If you are already a heart patient, it could also complicate things further, because it can cause fluid retention, which can result in congestive heart failure for people that are susceptible to it. Do they doctors th...
