The pills were for my cat via the vet. The pills have break lines to break in half or 1/4 (this is the cross). In the upper left of the cross is a D. In the lower right of the cross is a 8. There are all kinds of websites that dont recognize a D and 8. ## The reason they can't identify it for you is because this is a veterinary medication. Prescription medication databases only log medications for human use, the FDA does not require imprints to be logged for medications that are manufactured solely for animal use. The pill in question is called Drontal, it contains the active ingredients praziquantel and pyrantel, it used to treat or prevent several types of worms in cats. I found a pill bottle from the vet and it has 2 pills in it. They are round and white with D+ above the break and 30 below it. I'm just trying to figure out what it was prescribed for. I've looked it up a few different ways, but can't find anything. I have a puppy weighing 2.5 pounds and was given a triwormer that they say is Drontal. It looks like a heart shape that was scored in half but has an "R" imprinted, pale yellow in color. ## Hello Cindy, I did just a bit of research on the pill you described and I found a Drontal pill that is a freeform bone shapped pill with a score in the middle. I can see how the bone shape looks like two hearts, is that what you're describing or is it a heart shape with a score down the middle of the heart? Here is some addition info I sourced from the NIH. I found this small round white pill with no 23 in the bottom of my purse. Can't remember what it is, can anyone help. ## Hello Jodi, Is the number 23 the only imprint that is on the pill? If so then I was able to identify the pill. I believe what you have is a Praziquantel 23 MG Oral Tablet. According to the National Institute of Health this medication is used to treat worms, specifically Schistosoma worms. praziquantel ## above it is noted that that pill is animal praziquantal and there is then a post saying dose could be 600mg pill. That is impossible. Pills are either 34 mg or 23mg. Just thought that should be corrected. I was looking at this post because a client found a pill like that in an old envelope labeled 34mg droncit.
