Pradaxa Information

Hi, My Dad recently started using Pradaxa and I had no idea how serious of a switch it was from Warfarin. I was shocked to find out he could die from Internal Bleeding. Has anyone had this problem while using the drug Pradaxa? I found a website with some great information that has answered some of my questions, but I still want to hear from an actual user. The same risk is a possibility with Warfarin, or any blood thinner that someone might use, it's just some may carry a higher risk than the others.

However, it is the nature of blood thinners, even if someone just takes Aspirin.

Has he discussed such concerns with his doctor?

I would suggest to get your dad off the medicine as quickly as possible. My dad passed away 4 weeks ago and we believe it to be from Pradaxa. He was fine until his doctor switched him to this medicine.

My mother at 86 had a car accident. As a nurse I was the first one there as we all live across the country. I was told she would survive her injuries and suggested 2 of my siblings wait to fly to Florida to help with rehab. She died of a brain bleed less than 48 hours later. I had contacted the FDA about the Pradaxa issue and they did not respond. I also contacted the drug company as I just wanted it pulled. I gave them permission to access all of my mother's records. 3 months later I contacted them to discuss their findings and THEY DID NOT EVEN BOTHER TO INVESTIGATE. Why because she was old?? I denied them further investigation but I cannot let this be. I contacted a class action lawyer but I hate the idea of some personal injury lawyer making a 33% fee. It is not about the money. What do we do to get this dangerous drug off the market.? And why doesn't the FDA respond.?
