Pradaxa & Arthritis Medication

Now that I am taking pradaxa, I can no longer take arthrotec for arthritis. Is there any other arthritis medication I can take?

You should be able to take medications that don't cause blood thinning, which the Diclofenac in the Arthrotec does. (Diclofenac NDC code for more information 0054-4223.) The FDA lists the typical side effects of Pradaxa as possibly including nausea, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising. (Pradaxa 0597-0149).

What other medications have you tried?

I have taken no other medication for arthritis except hydrocodone, 1 a day. This does not do much except for a short time and does contain acetaminophen which can cause liver problems. Since the arthritis is long term (30+ yrs so far, I am 62) I am looking for options. I see my PCP next week and prefer to go with some information. Thank You, Denis
