Potentiation Of Multaq By Maoi's (e.g. Nardil)

My wife experienced alarming bradycardia (heart rate <50 bpm), weakness and dyspnea after only 5 doses of Multaq. She has been a long time user of the antidepressant Nardil. International package inserts (PI) disclose inhibition by MAOI's of Multaq's metabolic clearance. Regrettably the US PI does not disclose this potential for drug interaction. I have urged both Sanofi and the US FDA to correct this omission of useful information.

II certainly hope she is and yes, if this is an issue then it is something that they definitely should warn about in the drug monograph.

Heart rate returned to the normal range (~75 bpm) within 5 days of discontinuing Multaq.
