To those of you that are critical of those looking for a way to die....please do not be so critical. You know what they say, Until you've walked a mile in my shoes..... Please don't be judgemental. Those of us that are in pain and simply want it to be over, this is the most quickest, painless way to go.....do you think it's better for someone to find you with a gunshot to the head? I'm sorry if you can't understand what others may be going through....perhaps if less people were so judgemental, some of us would not be looking for a more peaceful life.

Anom.....While I totally appreciate where you are coming from and the sincere help that you hope you can get through....remember back to the pain that you felt as you fell backwards and not forwards....the pain that brought you to that point....talking is just that...talking. It does not take the pain away, it does not heal, it helps for the second that the words leave your mouth....but the pain seaps back in especially when the reminders are always there. When you realize that your whole past has been ONE HUGE lie and you can not trust yourself to make correct or rational judgements anymore.....25 years of believing in something or someone and all to have it gone....never mind the years of abuse prior to that......as the old saying goes....Talk is cheap. Death is the ONLY way to freedom and peace. I don't want to survive another attempt only to find that I am now a burden for someone to take care of....Lord knows I had that thrown in my face enough....

But I do thank you for your care and concern.....you are truly one of the lucky ones that got through the pain.....but after 50+ years....enough is enough.

It's true what Linda said. Some people are born cursed. They are never meant to have a life and others will never understand as they did not go through things we did. They will criticize us for taking such commitment because they do what they have learned to do. Not a single damn person can feel the pain we deal with everyday.... At least they could be helpful and help us get out of this nightmare (life). Who wants to die??? Unless there is a perfect reason don't judge someone's decision. I am begging you. Believe me you have never gone through what they did....and if it was you, you would also do the same thing...there is no difference....Life is not for some people and it doesn't matter...because we are just playing a role here... There is nothing we can change.

Wow Anonymous what a powerful response. I agree that euthanasia should be allowed under certain circumstances. I mean, we already do it to animals as needed. Not that I am comparing human beings to animals ... but I cannot imagine what you're going through. I hope that somehow you will be able to be relieved of your agony!

OK guys, hard as these may seem, you don't need Cyanide, simple Paracetamol is just as effective and 40x500mg tablets WILL do the trick! Dying will NEVER be painless - even if you feel nothing, OTHERS will! Only 3 months ago I took a massive paracetamol & Tamezapam overdose and for NO known reason to me I survived! I donn't remember making the call for the ambulance, I don't remember arriving at the hospital, but when I got there my liver was failing and YET I survived! It makes me mad at times when I think that my own damn subconsious mind somehow saved me, as I'm on here like all of you, looking for the easy way out - one simple pill and hey I'm gone! But reality is, a few packets of paracetamol will do the exact same thing, it'll just take longer! Dying is a lot like being born, for some it's quick and painless, for others labour takes days.... for me I figure I was CURSED with life, and after coming within hours of dying and surviving I now know I truely am cursed! I guarentee that even if I managed to get GENUINE Cyanide it wouldn't kill me, as now is just not my time! Trust me that REALLY F**KS me off!

I think it a great shame that we don't seem able on this site to reply personally to each other as it makes you feel so alone if you can only reply to a website that puts your reply up there but doesn't allow you to be put in touch with others feeling as bad as you (I) do.

Particularly to the person in India feeling so dreadful and desperate, I think it is sad we are not allowed to get together and try to help each other, except via email as that in itself is so very impersonal.

it is also sad that one is not allowed to talk about suicide openly and that the medical profession don't like to admit they can't help a lot of us, no matter how many drugs they invent or operations they can do

my heart goes out to all of you, I only found this site tonight and am at least pleased to see there are other brave people out there that feel just as I do so it is better than nothing, but not enough and I will be writing to my MP (I live in UK) tomorrow to ask him to allow suicidal people to have their own helpline, apart from the Samaritans.

I would be prepared to try and run it myself if it would help another person not to feel so very desperate but feeling a bit down myself because of my own situation may not be the best person to run it.

Having said that, does it not need someone who has been through a situation to understand how another feels. I am sure we are all very fed up with professionals trying to help us when they don't have a clue about anything personally.
