They actually shouldn't be cut in half, or dissolved. These pills are known to cause severe irritation to the stomach and mucous membranes of the esophagus.
I know they are very large, since I have a bottle myself. However, the only thing I can really suggest is talking to your doctor about an alternative Potassium supplement that you can take.

You might be able to purchase a different one and just take several of them to be equivalent in dosage.
