I have been using dilaudid and morphine sulfate for the past month for post op revision hip surgery. and quit taking it gradually for the past week. How long does it take to get over the hot and cold sweats and the post op depression.

Hi, Kathleen! Sorry about the symptoms you're still having.

It's a bit difficult to say how long it will take for them to go away, it can vary form person to person and it could take a couple more weeks.

Are you certain that they are all due to stopping the medication and having the surgery?

There are other things that may cause it, including hormones, stress, your trepidations over the surgery itself…

Have you consulted your doctor?
