Possible Substitute For Hydrocodone (Top voted first)
UpdatedI take 4 hydrocodone 10/375 a day for neck pain. It is getting filled as norco now. Is there anything else that might not cause so much stomach or intestinal pain and discomfort? I have never had any luck in the past with Darvocet or Percocet. I was wanting to have something I might be able ask my doctor about.

You just tell them you tried all types of non opioid drugs along with what you on now and you can't get your pain under control cause too much Tylenol is tearing your stomach up you tried the type with no Tylenol and it took or helped your pain and it did not tear up your stomach and be like being in pain is bad but pain and messing my stomach up also so why can't i get the ones without Tylenol before i end up on a ton of meds all cause of to much Tylenol that's what they had to do to me hope i helped some
@Brad,
Sorry to hear about your neck pain. I do want to add to what Ken suggested, in that, if the Tylenol isn't working well with your stomach, you may also want to ask your doctor about trying Zohydro ER, which only contains Hydrocodone in extended release form and NO Acetaminophen.
However, if you were to purchase Acetaminophen separately over-the-counter, they actually make what's called a "buffered" version (under a different brand name) that is marketed as being less harsh on your stomach than typical Tylenol.
Other than that, there's always different pain medications such as Tramadol, Morphine, Oxycodone, etc...and your doctor may be able to help you find a dosage of similar potency, without the added stomach pain. Unfortunately though, there's really no way to know ahead of time how you might react/respond to something until you give it a trial run, since all prescription medications have the risk of side effects.
During rehab after a total knee replacement I am trying to wean myself off hydrocodone..which works great...but perhaps too addictive or dependent for my post rehab pains and pains between rehab visits... After my right knee improves and is doing quite well now... my left knee will be scheduled as well... Any non addictive hydrocodone equivalents with minimal side effects available? 72, male, active, bicycler, lawn mower, elliptical user...non smoker/drinker, etc.
