Swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, are all actually signs of an allergic reaction to this medication.
The side-effect warning label does advise you get emergency medical help if you have any of those signs; including but not limited to slow or shallow breathing and a slowed heartbeat. In that sense, I do believe this drug effects your blood pressure.
Have you expressed these concerns to your doctor yet? I would think that you may have to switch medications since these are potentially life threatening side effects.
