Possible New Purepac Lorazepam
(Newest replies first)

I have a bottle of Purepac Lorazepams as prescribed, but half of the pills have the usual "Purepac R" followed by 59 and the others have a strange moon-like symbol followed by the number 59. Has anyone ever seen these before?

Not for me.....i need something that works like purepac did for me... i hope i can find something better then watson cuz it really does not work for me
yes i am a care tacker and the lady says that the watson are differnt she was tacking thepure pac have they changed to and what is close to them
Watson is best! on anything they make i think. better ingredients.
Yeah i got them and i think the suck had to take twice as much as usual
I went to Costco to get a refill on my Lorazepam and they informed me that Sandoz is manufacturing Lorazepam 1mg again. Has anyone tried them?? Wonder if they work like the old ones did..
I just recently got my prescriptions of Lorazepam filled and it is not what I normally used to get either, I now have the Purepac 1mg and I do not like it, for me It does not make me sleepy or groggy it actually does not work at all. My other 1mg not sure the mfg, but they were white round scored tab (rx773) and they worked amazing..but as another person said their Purepac was cheaper mine was more expensive..why could this be and I hope I can switch back :(
Purepac has changed its logo. You should get more info from your pharmacist. Some are made in New Jersey, and some are from India.
Betsy, I really like the Watson brand. I don't seem to need as much. They have to special order it for me but it only takes a day. That is Walgreens in Ca. No fuzzy head or drowsiness. Not sure what changed with Purepac. Good luck to you.
We're you anxious about taking the new pill.... That's how I felt... But in a few days I relaxed and the pill worked the same. :)
I will def try Watson Denise.. Thank you... How do you compare it next to the original Purepac??
Lisa, Purepac was bought out by Activis so they are making Purepac under their company...
They changed the stamp on it... Mine were 1mg and NOW under Activis, they make me sleepy during the day and take for ever to kick in...
Good Luck with yours.. Let us know if you feel a difference between the two.. :)
I just picked up a prescription of 2mg lorazepam with the numbers 063 and a crescent moon on the upper left side. I have never received any pills like this and I have been taking them for several years. Does anyone know exactly what it is? I am concerned. It also cost quite a bit less which is what made me inspect the pills. I hope they are ok because I already took one before discovering the change.
I did some online research and found the Watson brand was highly rated. My pharmacist special ordered it for me and I really like them. The 1 mg is stronger then the Purepac so I cut it in half and it works great. No spacey ness. Give it a try
The pharmacist told me the same thing, that they, Activus bought Purepac.. To be honest, these new pills with the moon on them are horrible.. They make me sleepy so fast and cannot function right during the day..
I tried to call all the pharmacies around my area, hoping I would find some left, but they have all switched to the new ones..
Before Purepac, I used to take Sandoz and they worked amazing.. Has anyone found another one better than Activus/Purepac???
Purepac was bought out by Activus... Thats why you cant find them.. I am having the same problem too.. I had the pharmacist look it up for me.. :(
just got mine filled. i have am mixed bottle ones with moon one with R the ones with the moon do not effect me at all. the ones with R do....same issue
I have been taking Purepacs lorazepam for whle and know how it affects me. Last month the new pills with the crescent shape came and they do not act the same way. They make me groggy and take longer to work. The other ones just calmed me down nicely in abou 15 min. Anyone else experiencing a different reaction?
yes i got a refill on my lorazepam and this time they have the crescent and 59 on one side. Why doesn't the pharmacist tell customers when they change things on prescriptions?
Not that I know of, but like I said, I couldn't even find em on the net yet.
I do believe this is a new one with a change to the logo, because while it isn't listed in the prescription drug databases yet, there have been several other posts about it recently.
Learn more Lorazepam details here.
If you're in doubt as to what it is, then I'd suggest asking your pharmacist to double check for you.
Has anyone else received these tablets?
