I was given a 10 prescription of bactrim by my doctor for a sinus infection because I had taken it twice before. Around the third day my tongue started burning so I went back to my doctor and because I suffer from acid reflux my doctor thought thats want was causing the burning of my tongue. Well on the 7th day I took bactrim, about 20 minutes later my stomach, chest, mouth, nose and lips started burning like fire! I haven't taken any more bactrim for the last couple days but still feel the burning but not quite as bad. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Thanks!

Hello, Paul! How are you? I'm very sorry about what you've experienced.
No, that is not something listed among the typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, they usually include symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
That's also not a typical allergic reaction.
Have you tried anything to see if it is due to acid reflux?
Are you on any other medications?
