Morphine can cause those types of side effects in some people that take it. The FDA classifies it as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

It usually just takes awhile for your body to get used to new medication, you should see improvement in about 4 to 6 weeks.

However, it would be best to consult your doctor, just in case, since you are also running a fever.
