Please Help, Compassionate Pain Dr In S. Michigan

My name is Chris. I moved back to southern Michigan, near the Ann Arbor-Detroit area. I was in pain mgmt. for 7 years being prescribed oxycodone 30mg and SR Opana in the state I moved from. Im on Medicaid here now. I really need someones help in finding a doctor that will give me some kind of continuity of care. I just had 3 surgeries, need one more for my C6-C7, have the worst head pain ever I guess from occipital neurology. I cant sleep, and when I can get to sleep pain wakes me up. I am legit and have many MRI's showing the spinal damage and paperwork showing what the doctors in the other state were treating me with. I was seeing Pain Mgmt/ neurologist/ spine specialist/ psychiatrist/ PCP... Im so sick of this. The transition here to Michigan has been horrible. I love Michigan and its beautiful here but haven't been able to enjoy anything. Please someone out there tell me of a doctor that is compassionate, and will hopefully take Medicaid. Im lost and don't know what to do. Ive been off of meds now for a while now so im not really in withdrawl, im just feeling the raw pain of my medical nightmare. I live in the Ann Arbor area but will drive anywhere. I hope someone can help one way or another. Thank you.

I feel ya Chris! I don't know about U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor, but at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak they have a Physician Referral Line. I called them & told the girl my situation. She found me a great doctor! All I had to do was have my records faxed over to them. After they reviewed them, they called me & set up an appt. I've been seeing them ever since! So you might want to call U of M & ask if they have their own Physician Referral Line... Sorry I can't offer you any more help than that, but I wish you the best of luck & hope you get some sort of pain relief soon!
