what is purpose of acido nalidixico fenazopiridina
3 Replies
I have pain in my right kidney... I have had it before with the same symptoms of a UTI. I have medication but am not sure how to take it. It's called (Pirifur) Ácido Nalidixico 500mg and Fenazopiridina 50 mg. Can you help me? Please!
The active ingredients are 500mgs of Nalidixic Acid and 50mgs of Phenazopyridine. It is commonly used to treat urinary tract infections, because some bacteria that cause them are sensitive to the acid and will be killed by it.
That said, however, it is not an antibiotic, so it may help clear it up, but there is also a chance that it won't.
The main side effect warned about when taking this is photo-sensitivity.

Is there anything else I can help you with?
