Is there a difference in the potency of the generic oval orange 30mg and the generic round pink 30 mg?

Teva (in my opinion) was the best generic Adderall.

Yet, it seems that the potency / efficacy of Teva Adderall IR has markedly decreased, and I have noticed this for the last year, but most intensely, within the last 3mo.

For me I've found that the oval orange ones work way better. Definitely a better generic!

You might want to keep your thoughts to yourself regarding this area, because everything you just typed is not only terribly wrong, it's dangerous and could give people the wrong idea... ADHD & ADD and all of their varying cousins aren't based upon whether or not the medicine "works" or not. I can't even see how you can think that with all the differences in people in general! They're diagnosed by a series of tests and an 11 to 12 point check-list now, that's been refined and worked on every yr for the past 10yrs time, w/ the child or teen patient being assessed and checked out, and then something on the lower end of the strength spectrum is prescribed at 1st., like low dose methylphenidate tablets...Coming onto a forum like this and saying judgmental things like a person just "wants to feel high" is NOT a cool thing to type, or say, & I bet you know that already and just choose to do it anyhow, etc... Again, everything you said is TOTALLY WRONG. No diagnosis is ever made by a human Dr depending on "if the medicine works or not". There are little children and teens in our Natl' kids foundation that tried 4 or 5 different r/x medicines before they found the 1 that works, so your post has not even micron bits of truth in it, so I'd not give advice out like that!

Hello,

Anybody know what brand of adderall generics the pharmacy carry in NYC, queens?

I know Walgreens only carry Teva. what about riteaid,cvs, target and walmart?

I'm trying to avoid the orange foot ball :-(

Actually there is a difference between the orange ones and pink ones. Or else every person on here that has a comment would b wrong. Every person I know personally that takes this medication responds differently to orange and pink. They are not the same. I could have a prescription of the pink then get orange the next time and it's a tottaly different affect

My friend takes adderall and says the round pink ones take effect very quickly, while the orange ovals metabolize very slowly. So while I've been on both for 15 years and can't tell... there must be more than in Actavis at work here. Keep in mind, orally the body absorbs only 30% but up to ~75% of the drug (roughly 3 fold difference). This means one day 30mg feels like 30mg... then another day 30mg feels like 75mg, if you get what I mean. Stomach pH is the main thing determining if 30% or 75% is absorbed. A higher pH leads to the most absorption... aka taking antacids...

Brother swears pink oval 30 much better then orange round 30. I have had both and did actually feel and notice a metabolic difference. For me the ovals gave more energy and did a better job of curbing appetite. Locally here we are able to get the pink oval at Walgreens and my brother thinks CVS also. FHCP pharmacy, Grocery Pharmacy & smaller pharmacies is where we have gotten the round orange. Hope that helps, as of February 2022 I am still able to get the pink oval so they are still made.

Wow, I believe you. I have been in on Adds for only about 3 years. I take a total of 30 mg a day (which I see in comparison to some it’s not that much, not judging at all. I just thought I was in a high dosage) and have only had it filled at Walgreens. I get 30/30s oval orange (Footballs), split 1 in half in am one in early pm, literally changed my life. As an African American Male, mental health and the idea of something being wrong and needing to seek medical attention for that mental health issue, well that’s not something highly talked about. However since I have took steps to improve my wellbeing I have only taken the “Footballs” unfortunately, for the month of November, I was given some Pink E 345 which I was told were the exact same… THEY ARE NOT. I don’t feel them working which makes, not function at my best and what’s more I actually do worse because, I kill time completing mundane task, which I usually do as I am waiting for my usual peep. Disappointingly I’m just not motivated to move past those time wasters, because my peep up feeling never comes and the desire to do what I know I need to do, it never arrives. It really sucks and unless it’s something another person has experience with, it’s really hard to explain how you feel and you come off as a lazy ass. So thank you for taking the time to explain, I not only fully agree but I can affirm that what you said is correct and I will be going back to Walgreens immediately.

You were right except that the potency can also be different. Generic medications are legally allowed to be up to 20% different in strength from the name brand, either stronger or weaker. So if the orange ones are 20% stronger than name brand and the pink ones are 20% weaker that’s a huge difference in efficacy between the two.

The fillers effect how your body and at what rate your body metabolizes the four different types of amphetamine salts found in Addy. When I first got the pink ones I thought my local pharmacy had f***ed it up again and just given me generic Dexedrine... which is just dextroamphetamine sulfate... I could not take that one for my ADHD... this may seem like an impossibility... as it once did to me. Always make sure you read the info with rx.

Now you may also have simply built up a tolerance to your current dosages... discuss it with your doc next visit... may need to alternate medications... Focalin IR is a good one in my past, still helped my adhd but also allowed my amphetamine tolerance to decrease back down to my normal dose.

The pink ones I go this time have cor
135 on them. I've used them one time before and they make get really irritable when I use the round pink ones. Mine are 20mg. They say Amphetamine 20 mg. tab core on them the organge ones say phetamine salts 20 mg.

The Mallinckrodt brand is terrible in practically every type of medicine they manufacture. They do make a worthless generic Adderall also. Is that what the "M" stands for?

I just started taking adderall 20 mg twice a day to stay awake because even when I would get a good night sleep I would start falling asleep throughout the day. Anyway last month was the first month I was on it and I had the orange tablets and I got those at CVS because they didn't have it at ralphs where I normally go. I just went to Ralphs (I like in irvine California) because they had it in stick and I looked at the pills after I picked them up and now they are the pink one manufacture corepharma. I'm hoping they work just like the orange ones. I mean they did what they were prescribed them to do for me, keep me awake during the day. So fingers crossed. I will be taking it in the morning and I'm nervous. I've seen other blogs and sites that people say that the pink ones make them sick and give them back aches! Ahh!! We shall see.
