Pink Round Pill 93 A Statin?

I have a pinkish, round pill with the number 93 on it. What is it and what are the mg? Thanks.

Are there any additional numbers on the tablet?

I'm finding one with the marking of 93 7153 that contains 10mgs of Simvastatin.

Another with the marking 93 771 that contains 10mgs of Pravastatin.

Do either of these match your tablet?

There is a 715- some other number I can't read. Maybe a 3 or 4? So I am guessing it is Simvastatin or a generic one. This number is on the back of the side with 93 on it.

My guess, then, would have to be that it's probably the first one I listed, the Simvastatin with the 93 7153. They are commonly used to help lower cholesterol.

They can also cause some severe side effects, like: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and bad joint/muscle aches.

Some are severe enough that people have had to stop taking them.

Thank you very much. Yes, I stopped taking this because of muscle pain, but dr. put me back on another kind. I still hurt. Guess there is no alternative.

Actually, that is a misconception, many people think that Statins are the only medication on the market that can help lower cholesterol.

They have been proven effective and do work better, for most people, than other options, however, it is NOT the only choice available.

If you are still having the muscle pain and aches from Statins, there are Fibrates available that can also be used to lower cholesterol.

In many cases, they are even used in combination with the Statin drugs, to help lower someone's cholesterol even more.

You may wish to ask your doctor about them.
