The closest match I've been able to locate is (Simvastatin 10 mg); which is a hypolipidemic drug used with exercise, diet, and weight-loss to control elevated cholesterol, or hypercholesterolemia. It is a member of the statin class of pharmaceuticals. The primary uses of simvastatin is for the treatment of dyslipidemia and the prevention of cardiovascular disease. It is recommended to be used only after other measures such as diet, exercise, and weight reduction have not improved cholesterol levels sufficiently. Simvastatin is a synthetic derivative of a fermentation product of Aspergillus terreus. The drug is marketed generically following patent expiry, and under the trade name Zocor.
Side effects (may include but are not limited to):
Common: abdominal pain, diarrhea, indigestion, and a general feeling of weakness.
Rare: joint pain, memory loss, and muscle cramps
The pill I located is round and a light peach pink color with the imprint 01 on one side and A on the other. It is possible that the "dot" on your pill is just a pharmacy logo- and the pill I found is just manufactured by a different pharmacy...
