I was prescribed 40 lortabs and was instructed to take one every four to six hours. How many days supply is that?

Do the directions state to take them as needed, or are you supposed to take them regularly?

If you were instructed to take them regularly, then every 4 hours would make this almost a 7 day supply and every 6 hours would make it a 10 day supply. However, if it's as needed, then they may be expected to last longer.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
