Pill Count At Methadone Clinic

Is it legal for a doctor to ask for a pill count, if he/she is not the prescribing Dr.? The Dr. that does perscribe the pills knows that I am going to the clinic, and the clinic Dr. has already had contact with the Dr that prescribes my meds, And, btw, my Dr found the clinic Dr very insulting and offputting. All is above board, and I'm not trying to hide anything from the clinic Dr. But there are two Drs., (very young women), at the clinic that really treat patients like criminals, rather than desparate people seeking help for their disease. Also, any documentation I bring in always seems to get "lost" before it's entered into my paper and computer file.(Of course I always have copies!).

Yes, they can ask for anything of the sort that they want, it is of course your option to comply and be treated by them. You are free to go see a different doctor, if you aren't happy with the way they do things.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

They can set whatever treatment requirement parameters they desire on such things and are actually encouraged to do so by the government.
