At this time, there is no generic available for it. There is Oxycontin, which should have an OP on one side and 40 on the other side of the tablet, which is manufactured by Purdue Pharma and there is Xartemis, which is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, I believe there are couple others the FDA has approved, but they are not commonly available, yet. However, all are name brand medications, in time released formulations, with abuse deterrent features.
The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
What are the markings on the tablets you've received?
