Phentermine Anyone Have Strange Side Effects? (Page 8) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI just started taking this medicine for weight loss. I am having hot flashes and cold chills, terrible headache and a tingly head. I feel awful. Has anybody taken this and had the same reaction? If so did it pass after a few days? Gotta say this...I am not ever hungry! Like to hear from anyone that has taken this med. Thanks :)
Been taking 37.5mg for two months now when I first started taking this I had my period every other week and I never have a period!!! So got on the depo birth control shot well it only worked for couple of weeks period is now back. Is any other woman having this problem?????
Linda I'm taking the same med & once before I lost toe nails as well, what did you take to get them back
Wow..I thought 37.5 was the highest, I would get it in a tablet form & break them in half though.
can I find this over the counter?
I have been on phentermine for a month now an only side affect is dry mouth, but I havent seen any weight lost..should I be concerned? I have two kids both young an would love to be able to play out side with them. Should I get off the meds?
It will work!! I didn't see any results either the first month.By the 3rd however I felt great and it just kept falling off!!!! The headaches and insomnia were horrible BUT... My doctor gave me a stronger headache medicine (but I do suffer from chronic Headaches) But for insomnia I swear by melatonin!!!!!!You Can get it at ANY store. Its ALL NATURAL and your not sleepy when you awake. It comes in liquid, melts, and pill form.( no side effects either) I myself take 2/ 5mg every night. but I would see how it effects you personally .Its also a natural stress reliever. I know Walmart has it for 00.88 at 3 mg if you would like to try.
I too have been taking phentermine, 37.5 mg, for approximately a year now. I have went from 259 lbs to 198. I am a 30 year old male and I have also been experiencing semen leakage, so I know how annoying this can be. Never really had any major side effects, other then the leakage, but think this medication is great. The increased libido is making my wife hate my doctor. :-)
Has anyone experienced hairloss after 3-4 months on the pill and did this side effect wear off?
Hair loss - I just started taking it and it seems like my hair has changed. I would imagine that to be the case since I really was struggling to try and eat some substantive food.
My question and it appears no one really asked is about the weird taste in mouth. I have the swollen, blistered tongue as well and I will increase my water intake. My question is does that weird taste go away...makes me feel like I have bad breath. Now I am nervous about kissing. Can someone else smell it or am I worrying about too much? I am an extremist when it comes to dental hygiene. Help!
I have the same things happening to me when I take them plus my heart beats out of my chest.and I get horrible heartburn. Idk If it's worth it
Ashley what same things have happened to you?
Not sure how to do this....I took adipex for the first time several years ago and don't remember any of the side effects that I have experienced the last few times I've tried to take it. I have spent the last couple of hours doing some research. I was thinking maybe mixing adipex and celexa was a bad thing, but I've read that a lot of doctors prescribe both together to help the process. About 2 weeks ago I was excited to try it once more. These were my side effects: didn't sleep 2 nights in a row, was very agitated/irritated, hot sweats, after running which I do normally I felt so sick, etc. I quit after that week. I have the 37.5 mg of time release capsules. I drink diet coke like water and wonder if this intensified my effects. If I recall the first time I took this I didn't drink much pop because I felt like it tasted weird.
Take half in AM and half at noon i eat then take it. i still get tingles and dry mouth but not nearly as bad as a full dose.
Are you taking any other meds? Even OTC? I started having that problem after about 10 months of being on it. I took a couple months off and then my dr switched me to another med to help with weight loss.
I have been on adipex 37.5 almost 3 years and have tried many times to stop taking them and now i am trying again...always fine till the 3rd day of not taking them..today is day 3 on another attempt and my insides feel like they are going to jump out of my body my chest hurts and sometimes it feels difficult to breathe..adipex is awesome to lose weight but on this day i would gladly be fat if all the withdrawls would just stop....i have nevermade it past 3 days without them..im hopeing by monday i will be ok cause ?, if its anything like this day 3 then i will be going to get anotjer 30 day supply....if ya use them i suggest using them for 2 months then stop for a month and try to do it with out them but never stay on them for more than 2 months at a time

Are you still losing weight? I have a situation similar to yours but have actually started gaining weight. I do not really experience any if the side effects anymore and eat extremely healthy but have gained about 15 lbs over the past year and have done nothing differently. I have developed pretty severe exhaustion and have trouble just making it through the day bc i am so tired.
Just wondering if you have maintained your weight loss after being on it for so long and if anyone else has experienced this has any suggestions to get the weight to drop again?
Thanks!
Side affect with me I'm guessing is that I started on phentermine on February 24th and was due to start my period on 26th and never got it and this month should've got it on the 24th and nothing. It's not normal for me I'm always regular. Not pregnant, husband fixed. I figured it was the phentermine. I went for the monthly check up yesterday and the weight loss clinic dr said hadn't seen missed periods while on phentermine and to check with my gynecologist if I'm really concerned. I did read reviews online and see people have problems with their menstrual cycle while on phentermine. I asked for my lab results and only thing high was my thyroid. Everything else perfect. now I know why I'm always tired, hair loss and why it's been hard to lose weight. I lost 5.8 lbs this month without watching what I ate.
Yes, I had the chills and random hot flashes. I've been on it for 3 weeks and I have only lost 6 pounds. I'm pretty upset with the results but I haven't been working out like I should. When I started I was tired, and had no energy. But my body is used to it now. I'm taking the 37.5 mil and it's the k29. Capsuel. Good luck k
BD...i have lost about 60 lbs with adipex and i have been at a stop weight for about a year....no matter what i can not get below where im at....but i have stopped taking adipex and have not fell off my wagon...i will not go back on adipex....dont get me wrong..adipex works but only for a short time..not.for long time use
I was on it from March 2013 until January this year. I lost 63 lbs and then just stopped losing. In fact I started gaining even though I changed nothing! My dr took me off of it in the middle of January and 3 weeks ago I started taking adderall. I have lost the few (8 lbs) pounds I put on but I have also noticed that I'm focusing more lol I used to start one thing, see something else that needed done and start it then see something else and so on. I think most of us have done this but mine was out of control. I couldn't focus, concentrate on things and my attention span was like a 3 year olds. I'm almost 41 and it's been this way since my teens! I don't know if I'm happier about the weight coming back off, would like to lose another 45-50 lbs, or the fact that I can pay attention to things for more than a minute or two lol But seriously, the phentermine worked extremely good for me for about 8-9 months. The entire time I was on it I took it different than almost everyone on here. My dr told me to take it for 3-4 days then go off it for 2-3 days then back on again for 3-4 and off for 2-3. I did this the entire time and I think that's why it lasted so long. Had I taken it every day I would have built up a tolerance fairly quickly. I'm kind of doing the same with the adderall except I take 2 a day for a week (which is how she's prescribed it) but then the following week I just take 1/2 to 3/4 a day. I've noticed that even that small amount helps with focusing and I still have to make sure I eat or I'll drink a meal replacement shake. If you notice you're not losing like you were and u haven't been on it that long try taking it for a few days and then go off it for a few days and just repeat the cycle. It's like anything else, you take it every day and you're going to build up your tolerance quickly.
