Phentermine Anyone Have Strange Side Effects? (Page 11) (Top voted first)

I just started taking this medicine for weight loss. I am having hot flashes and cold chills, terrible headache and a tingly head. I feel awful. Has anybody taken this and had the same reaction? If so did it pass after a few days? Gotta say this...I am not ever hungry! Like to hear from anyone that has taken this med. Thanks :)

I have been on phentermine for a week and i lost 13 lbs so far. But for the last couple of days I have been having trouble urinating. I would only pee just a little bit with a slow flow and dont ever get the urge to go. I have to make myself go.
any suggestions.

Hi Jen,
I've been on Phentermine for 17 days and have lost 10 lbs. I know I couldn't have lost the weight without it. The first day I took it, I didn't fall asleep until 4:30 in the morning and was feeling depressed and lethargic for a couple days. I'm over those symptoms, but I don't feel like myself during the day. It's not until it wears off in the evening that I start feeling like myself. In the morning, I feel great, until I take the pill and the cycle starts all over again. A chronic symptom I feel is dry mouth and I'm constantly chilled. I have to wrap a blanket around me at night before I get under the covers. I'm looking forward to not taking Phentermine any more, but scared at the same time because I don't want to go back to the feeling of being on a diet and hungry all the time. Right now, I don't mind being on a diet at all. I eat what I want keeping healthy food in mind and always end up eating under 1,200 calories. I just hope I can keep it up once I'm off Phentermine. Yes I have the hot and cold flashes and that doesn't go away but the head and other funny feelings normally means that you may need a lil more food.When I eat something I feel a lot better and drink lots more water

I started taking phentermine on April 14,2015. I was prescribed 37.5mg. I've been on it for four days now. My start weight was 155lbs (with clothes on) and I'm currently now 144 (with clothes off). So I have lost 11lbs in four days which I heard is majority water weight. My ultimate goal weight is to be 135lbs. The first day I took half a pill around 8am and the other at 11:30am as recommended by the doctor. I had a lot of energy and no appetite as well as insomnia. No bad or severe side effects as of day one. Day two I took the pill whole. My symptoms were the same as day one but my hormones changed and my libido began to increase lol. So that was a plus for my husband lol. On day 3 everything continued to be the same, especially the no appetite but I became very tired which was unusual compared to the first 2 days but I assume it was due to the lack of food since I barely ate as well as my water consumption which was minimal. Day four started off as usual but this time I ate 2 fruits for breakfast and consumed 1.9L of water within a 8hr time window. When I got home from work I instantly felt the need to rest so I did for 30mins. Afterwards I had a small bowl of shrimp and broccoli. Later on that night I went jogging/walking for 20mins. I felt GREAT! It wasn't until after I showered and went downstairs and began to drink some ice cold water til my vision became blurry and dark I felt as if I was about to pass out! It was the most scariest and helpless moments I've ever felt. I thought I was dying/drifting off. Everything just went dark and my body felt so weak. My vision came back and I could just feel my heart beating quickly, I was sweating and shaking. My husband laid me down and helped me finish my water. Based on reviews I read that in a circumstance like that go to the hospital, stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor. I plan to contact my doctor first thing tomorrow morning. I'm not sure if I will continue taking this since I had that episode until I consult with my doctor and figure out exactly what the issue is. After reading several reviews and just looking back on the last few days I think it may have been due to lack of nutrients and water which is very important while on this medicine. So if your taking this please drink a lot of water and try to eat something and if you can't drink protein shakes or yummy smoothies. I hope nothing is wrong with me so pray for me.

I just took my first dose today 4/21/15. I was told to take half a pill for the first 2 days. I had nausea at first but it went away. I was given a healthy diet to follow and they also give vitamin shots every 2-3 days. I feel a little floaty/dizzy? but no other symptoms as of yet. No heart pounding or dry month. We'll see how it goes. I weighed in at 296 in their office.

I tried this medication for about 30 days and felt TERRIBLE the entire time. I posted a previous post about my side effects. I have since stopped and switched to using advocare. I am on day five of their 24 day challenge and i feel amazing and can tell a difference already in the way my clothes fit. Im going to stick with this and see what happens. So far i am very optimistic. Especially after the way phentermine made me feel.

I have been on adipex on and off since 2010. I always rub a certain spot on my scalp to the point that it bleeds. I've just now noticed the frequency is higher when I'm on the pill.

Hi all, I just started taking it today. In the morning I could feel it working. Ate a little something the morning, then a small piece of beef. But then around 3 my tummy was growling. I am on 15mg right now, I thinking I want to take one more and see how that works. Any thoughts?

Oh wow that's what this is I been wondering why my testicle been aching I've been on the 37.5 a month I have had no other side effects but the last four days my testicle been aching like hell I would hate to stop using them because I've lost weight but dam this I love my testicles

I had to stop taking the medication because of severe dry mouth....I had no saliva in my mouth at all and still don't...when I was on the 15mg. I felt fine but since the dose was increased to 30 mg. this must of caused my problem...I drink plenty of water and does not help at all and I can even stand the headaches....any ideas what I can do...help...

Hi i know this is years back thread.but can someone plz tell me how long the headaches last for.i just started 15mg phentemen 1 day ago.i was fine alday loadd of energy.then last night i hd the most horrible headache.lasted ryt up to after 12 30.i was so worried i didnt want to sleep i was scared tbh.today i hv halfed the tablet but im feeling hungry more today than yesterday when i took a full one.should i take the second half.i really need to stick this out.but the headache really did scare me.plz any advice anyone cheers x

I was also having headaches but just took tylenol and that seemed to help. ..The only side effect was the severe dry mouth I could not handle...still having a hard time with this even though I stopped taking it....I am afraid to start again because of this side effect for me..but lost 5 lbs. in the first 2 weeks on the 15 mg. and just lost 4 more lbs. after stopping the medication because my saliva glands were not working...and i couldn't eat...I went to the dentist and they agreed I had no saliva what so ever...what a nightmare....

I know phen can cause excess yeast in your system. Yeast build up is a primary cause for toenail fungus. If your nails got yellow first, then it is probably a fungus from the phen.

Try taking half the dose and let your body get used to it, if it feels overwhelming. I had several of those side effects. plus I have extremely dry eyes, so watch for that. If the half dose helps for a few days thend go ahead and start the full dose again.

I to am having hot flashes, feeling flush in face, and mood swings, I have been on for 3 weeks and have lost 10 lbs. No signs of side effects letting up. Today my last day taking it. I can't take the side effects.

Hi, are you still taking Phen and topamax? Or could you share your experience with taking them together? I've been doing Phen for 10 days with the most debilitating headaches of my life. I've lowered the dose and even quit taking it from two days, but the headaches haven't let up. I've taken everything over the counter that I can think of, so I'm thinking about trying Topamax for it too. Just wondering about your experience. Thanks!

I've never heard of anyone taking 37.5 3times a day are u sure did u go back and check with your Dr maybe he made a mistake Hun.. Just doesn't seem right to me or get second opinion that's wayyyyy to much FYI in the future never ever take full dosage at once this is day 2 for me and I take at about 6:30am then about 3hours later the other half I think if u haven't done so do more research and drinking a lot of water helps tremendously a lot of water..

I did have headaches and dry mouth....and could not handle it so i changed to another medication diethylpropin hcl just started hope this one works...I only want to lose 20lbs...but very hard to do..hope this helps someone.
