Pharmacy Gave Me Dexedrine Not Adderall!

I realized my generic medication was dextroamphetamine which is dexedrine and doesn't work for me. It actually gives me a fever and makes me feel ill. I usually take the amphetamine salts combo which is Adderall. How do I remedy the situation with this pharmacy? The doctor wrote it right but the cvs pharmacist is not taking this seriously. They could hurt someone by giving them the wrong drug. I can't take dexedrine, I get feverish and don't feel right on it. What do I do, who can I call to get what I need now?

Dextroamphetamine immediate release tablet was Dexedrine, but they left that market and it is now Zenzedi.
Dexedrine Spansules is the extended release version which would be a capsule.

Most, not everyone, but most people will find 100% dextroamphetamine to be stronger than mixed salts. Because dextro is much stronger than levo amphetamine and levo more strongly targets the cardiovascular system than the brain.
(except at low to very low doses levo may target epinephrine stronger than dextro. But, exact doses used for that research were not included, so is questionable anyway)

If you are feverish and what not, there are reasons for that. You may have been overstimulated as it is not just the difference in mix of amphetamines, but generics can vary wildly in effect due to the inactive ingredients helping or hindering amphetamine crossing the blood brain barrier. So, you may be reacting to the stronger 100% dextro. (Adderall is only 75%). Or, you could have been on a less effective generic Adderall brand and been switched to a good dextroamphetamine generic which would be much stronger with the combo of good excipients and stronger active drug content.

Or, you may be sensitive to 1 or more inactive ingredients in the medication you received, causing issues.

But, you need to be sure you have Dexedrine Spansules or Zenzedi (you didn't specify for sure). Or, if you just have a different generic of your Adderall that is causing the issue. If you were used to a crappy brand then were given a good one, that could easily be very over stimulating. Or, it could be the inactive ingredients.

If the drug identification tool does confirm it is not Adderall. Take it back to the pharmacy and actually show them the drug in the container they put it in and tell them the exact drug and maker the pool tells you it is. They will then have to allow you to exchange what you have left for replacement. But, there may be a delay if not in stock.

If it is an Adderall generic that is different from what you are used to. Look into what the good/bad brands people mention are and see if you are used to a bad or good brand. Can ask the pharmacist what generic brand you used to get. And have the prescriber put "[your preferred brand or brands] generic only please" and you wont get filled with one you don't want. If they can't get it, they should call you and tell you and you can go from there.
