Pharmacies That Carry Buprenorphine Made By Mylan Or Roxanne 54 411 (Page 14)
UpdatedI've been taking Buprenorphine 8mg for 3 1/2 years now, all of a sudden every pharmacy in our area (that I know of) has switched the manufacturer they are order from, frustrating to me as I just seem to see a difference all though there shouldn't be. Does anyone know a pharmacy that still carries bup mg with the imprint 54 411?
Re: Charlene (# 258)
I have found out that the manufacturer of the new Bup's... (Mktd by) Rhodes pharmaceuticals....(drum roll plz....dadadadada......) are created by the same company that created a vast majority of our problems.....the maker of OXYI!!!! PURDUE PHARMA!!!! So now not only did they make BILLIONS of $$$$ creating & pushing an addictive medication but NOW they get to make TRILLIONS of $$$$ by making the drug to assist in the addiction they created!!!! HOW IS THIS FAIR!!! How is this LEGAL!!! The PURDUE Pharma should NOT be able to make a dime off the treatment of addiction they willingly created!!! They knew 10000000% how addictive their medication is yet they PUSHED Dr.'s (mind you, they PUSHED Dr.'s by giving them perks...$$....all expense paid vaca's...$) to let the side effect slide their minds...just prescribe more....their thought was.....get them hooked & we'll come out with a solution & get even richer off their sorry souls!!!! Which they are!! Hate to say this but in the 5 years I've been on bup, they make the best 1...
Re: Tdoty (# 261)
U are soo cool..lol. Did u happen to watch "The late show with Stephen Colbert".. If not it's a must watch. I saw it. If u want funny and to laugh your a** off look for it. It's about our new buprenorphine that's out. Rhodes...I must say though thanks to them we finally have a bup. that actually works.
Re: Tdoty (# 261)
When searching and researching for my current Rhodes buprenorphine medication. I found all this information along the way and even spoke to their customer service department. They were very helpful and assured me there was ample supply of their generic Buprenorphine. This whole opioid epidemic thing and now with the subsequent solution, bupes, it reminds me so much of the cigarette industry. Rhodes Purdue has lawsuits up the wazoo over the Oxycontin that pushed. It is no surprise they have bupes available now. The worst or saddest part of all this is the fact many many more will die and a big reason is the cost of buprenorphine and treatment is through the roof. In California a doctor that used to be able to prescribe it, cannot. Unless they take a certified course of so many hours. They are limited on how many patients they're allowed and how many prescriptions to that patient. So our government is aware of this but are making it still very hard financially and legally to help people.
Re: Tdoty (# 261)
You make a great point. All of us you gather together and boycott against them. I’m taking Buprenorphine for severe pain, not addiction. But, I’ve been having the same problems finding the Buprenorphine that works for me. There so many of the others that cause me to many side effects. Thank for your imput.
Re: T (# 264)
Help!! Anyone. Now that my Walmart has there own policy you must live in that county.im 5 miles away. I take the old Roxanne by hym??? So. I had Rhodes Perdue one month. I still prefer the 54-11. Nothing big about them for me.. Now this month I'm stuck with activis. I'm trying to have an open mind and just be grateful I'm not stuck without anything. Id like to know your rating. I mean anyone else who has taken them. Much thanks
Re: Roxanne 56 (# 265)
Actavis for me was ok. I've tried all the generics availabile in the last two years only and would rank Actavis fourth behind Rhodes, first, Westward, Mylan then Actavis. Since you take this for pain I think you should be fine. Some people like Actavis best. We all are different. I'm sure it will work well enough. If not contact your doctor and you may have to search a bit but Westward is available. Good luck.
Re: Roxanne 56 (# 265)
I’m doing ok oh the Actavis brand of Buprenorphine. Mylan brand works the best for me. The other ones people are talking about don’t work at all for my pain, especially the little one’s. Those are Hi-Tech or also called Akorn. Everybody has a different effect with each medication they take. Since I’m on the Actavis brand of Buprenorphine, I also have to take prednisone because it causes me to wheeze as well as all the other ones besides Mylan. The Hi-Tech was worse one, then WestWard. Mylan is the one I can take that doesn’t mess with my asthma. The taste of the Actavis brand of Buprenorphine doesn’t have a very good taste. I rinse my mouth out with mouthwash before I get let the medication dissolve under my tongue.
Re: Roxanne 56 (# 265)
Walmart told me the same thing after going there for 3 years. I'm in the same county but it's a big county. They said I'm not in their area of patients cause I live 11 miles away. But since my script had their address location on it, no other Walmart would fill them. But I finally found some s***ty hi-tech ones at a small pharmacy after looking all day. I loved my 54 411 pills.
Re: T (# 267)
Try a Tictac with it under your tongue. Research Mylan. Not sure on the availability of them. In N. California area unless they've been sitting on the shelf a few months. Almost impossible to find. I heard somewhere that Mylan discontinued manufacturing Generic buperenorphine. But rumor at this point. I had Mylan six months ago from CVS and Pharmacist said they cannot order them anymore. Sun was the replacement and for me the worst! Burning under the tongue, nauseous afterwards. Im not the only one. Don't accept those if they try to fill your prescription with them. If you call around some independent pharmacies will help you best to get Mylan or give you the status of availability or not.
Re: Davidjw1 (# 269)
Actavis is the brand of Buprenorphine I’m taking and it’s working pretty good. I just don’t like the taste of it. I rinse my mouth out with mouthwash 1st and then melt the Buprenorphine under my tongue and then it tastes like spearmint. So that’s a good way.
Re: Please no more Actavis (# 6)
Actavis was purchased by Teva about 2 yrs ago. Just sayin'.
BTW, The Hikma 54 411s are all over Northern California, Bay Area especially. So, if you're on your way west to visit your aunt...
Re: Davidjw1 (# 263)
Everything u say here is so true. The medication is very expensive and once your on it for a good while like me u become addicted.. then what happens if u can't get your bup. due to cash? Then some doc has u come in every month. That's expensive, then on top of that some make u pay for the U/A, another $25.. gosh buprenorphine treatment back in 2005 was outrageous. 120 8mg used to cost me around $300 OR SOMETHING, that's with insurance. 6 months down the road u might hit what's called the donut hole... even today it so expensive. The medicine has come way down since then. I'm just lucky to have my husband to more/less bail me out..they keep saying the government wants to help..well when..humm..now I'm living on a fixed income now. But I always feel bad for anyone who struggles to pay. Because I will be honest, my pills I was abusing were way cheaper than subs. I think the pharmaceutical companies with all there big bucks should help us out. And I mean all of us. Just because I have a little bit of cash I still struggle the $130 for a month that covers my meds, my doc visit, +U/A monthly. I could be using it to help him retire. But the subutex had such a grip on me. I can break away from it. Anyway very good point.
Re: AwwCharlene (# 272)
Great news Charlene. I went to my monthly appointment and my Dr tells me she received a grant from Unle Sam that covers my $220 visit and $212 medication! She figures for at least a year maybe more. The catches are, yes there's always a catch to a good thing, I have to make less than $40k take home a year ? got that one. Second añd this is a choice regarding the medication, comes from a Pharmacy 23 miles away and has naloxone. But I can continue with the Rhodes but have to pay still. So my partner feels same as me to stick with the Rhodes. It really has helped me the most. So to those that are reading and curious about the same. Please have your doctor look into it. It's new from the government. It could help so many that cannot afford treatment before. Wish I had more info. But if one researches enough....
Wow. Most of these comment was from last year. I haven't had problems filling my subutex until a month ago. Now NOWHERE has them. The little ones are even hard to find. Everywhere is on back order. I live near beaver falls pa. Anyone find the Milan or roxanne, let me know!!!!
The company, Roxane, was recently purchased by another company called Hikma. Call around and ask if any of the distributors carry Hikma. They make a superior product.
My pharmacist said they can order Rhodes subutex pills for roughly $214. No insurance... I get the small ones now. Are Rhodes bigger and white? I hated the orange tasting pills.
No. Almost all pharmacies are going to the Actavis brand of Buprenorphine. The other manufacturers are being phased out. I can get WestWard but not all the time. The same goes for Akorn-Hi-Tech. Then I heard Mylan is no longer going to manufacture Buprenorphine. There’s only the other 3 I mentioned. Teva brand of Buprenorphine is no longer available in the US.
The companies are selling out and having our medicines made in India where there are no controls like here in the US. I noticed the ineffectiveness of medicine starting about 2 years ago. Amneal is a big supplier and the medicine from that company has made me sick with the WORST side affects. I always ask the pharmacist who the manufacturer is before I purchase it now. Generics are so useless!! Take you have whats left to your doctor and tell them whats happening and have them prescribe name specific for the remaining medicine. If enough people start doing this maybe these lousy generics will not be purchased by the pharmacies. Also tell the pharmacy where you got this your problems. We need to start returning lousy ineffective generics or nothing will be done!! Because its getting worse!! Hope this helps. I've been through alot of this and have learned this is what needs to be done to save ourselves from lousy generic medicine coming from foreign companies!!

I am in northern California, Oakland area. And my Pharmacy provides me either Westward/Hikma or my current Rhodes Pharma Buprenorphine. The CVS out here get the Hikma or Sun brands regularly still. Walgreens carries Actavis for most all there generics. Not sure where you all are located. But Pharmaca pharmacies provide Westward/Hikma.
Re: Dylan (# 276)
The Rhodes are the big white ones. They are very well made and because popular very fast. Its q smooth flavor and has very good buprenorphine. Comparable to original brand name subutex. They have become my #1bup..most people like them and very few still like the 54s, but then again take q look at what is offered in generic versions.
