Periods After 1.5 Years Mirena

How common is it for periods to be regular past the first year and then stop or space further out? I would have been expecting it around the one year mark... Slightly nervous about pregnancy.

I bled for 8 weeks after the insertion of my IUD in April 2012. Then I have had pretty regular periods (within a week) since then. They last between 7-10 days. I think I might be overdue (maybe a week). However I am really bad at tracking it. I felt a really sharp pain a few days ago and yesterday felt cramping. I thought for SURE my period would start by today. The cramping felt exactly like period cramps. Yet, today the cramps are gone and still no period.

Well, the one predictable thing about the Mirena IUD is its unpredictability. If you made it through a year and a half with regular periods, then that's actually quite amazing.

But it is well known to cause irregular bleeding, breakthrough bleeding and etc. However, the chances of your getting pregnant while it's in are very, very slim.

You should consult your doctor to be certain, but this type of thing is really typical of the Mirena.

Are there any other questions or concerns?
