Perindopril Medication
UpdatedI have been on perindopril 4mg for a couple of months now and two weeks after starting the medication I started to developed a weird kind of heat rash on my chest, face and back. I wasn't sure what it was at first so my doctor ordered blood tests to make sure it wasn't anything sinister.. all tests came back negative which I was relieved but it still doesn't explain the ongoing rash that seems to come and go.
My doctor suggested stopping the perindopril and see if the rash goes...It has been around a week now and I still have the rash. Does anyone know how long it takes for Perindopril to leave the body?

Hello, Jason! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having.
A rash can be a side effect of this medication in some people that take it, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, increased urination and hypotension.
As to how long it will take to clear up, since you stopped it, it may take a couple of weeks, since you were on it for a few months.
Has you doctor considered having you try a different medication?
