Periactin Drug Information

I have an appointment soon, and that's what I am going to see the doctor for. I am about to start taking the Periactin pills, so is there anyone that could fill me in on a little more information on this medication?

Periactin contains the active ingredient Cyproheptadine, which is an antihistamine, it is commonly used to treat allergies and respiratory disorders.

It can cause increased appetite as a side effect, so some people use it to try to gain weight and it can also be effect at helping with nightmares for those that suffer from PTSD.
