Percoset And Marijuana

My brother is a dbl amputee and has been taking percoset for years. He also has a calif medical marijuana prescription. His doctor made him take a urine test to make sure he is taking the percoset (not selling them) and found THC in his system. Now he wants to my brother to come in for an appointment regarding the marijuana and my brother is very concerned that the dr will take away his pain meds. can the dr do this?

In all honesty yes, the doctor can stop prescribing him pain medications for any reason he sees fit. He is in no way obligated to keep prescribing them for him, at all, even if he didn't find anything in his system, but just decided he didn't want him as a patient any more.

No doctor is obligated to prescribe anything, or keep anyone on as a patient. The only time they are obligated to treat is if it is an emergency situation, where someone's life is in danger.
