My pain Management Dr. prescribed Percocet (512 pill), 4 times daily, 6 wks ago for my Spinal Stenosis, Spondylolisthesis and Arthritis. I am finally experiencing some pain relief . My MRI doesn't warrant surgery at this time. My big fear is that I willI become addicted to these Percocet tablets? Can this happen? ## It really depends on you, there is a difference between addiction, and dependence. Addiction occurs when someone abuses a medication, because they like the side effects, such as feeling high, according to NIH definitions, but side effects tend to wear off, once your body gets used to a medication, so they have to keep taking more and more to get those feelings back. If they suddenly stop they can experience severe withdrawal symptoms, which could put their lives in dange...

white oblong pill ## Percocet ## What is the difference between m523 10/325 (oxycodone/acetaminophen) verses ip204 (hydrocodone/acetaminophen)? ## This tablet is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, which is a generic for Percocet. Sandie, both of them contain 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, neither of these contain Hydrocodone. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache. Is there anything I can help with?

I was taking an oblong white Percocet 10/325, my pharmacy has changed to a round white 10/325 pill which is to me much stronger. Can there be such a difference in the same prescription but different manufacturers? With the round pill I feel tired and checked out. The other pill I didn't seem to have any effect unless I took my klonopin at the same time. ## Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984 the FDA allows the generics to differ from the name brand, in the amount of the active ingredient, by as much as plus, or minus 20%. Thus, it is possible that one may be stronger than another, since generic manufacturers don't have to measure against each other, only against the name brand. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects,...

I'm scared to try another pharmacy, don't wanna look like a drug seeker , I'm just looking for pain relief, compared to the brand I was on, it was the company that bought watson. what do I do ? am I having side effects do to the new generic ? Hi, my name is Joan and I have chronic pain. I also have fibromyalgia Hermiated discs in the lumbar and sacral regions as well as the thoracic region. I get injections into my knee because it’s bone on bone. My primary dr stopped my Percocet 10/325mgr, abruptly , after knowing been on for more than 5 yrs. i’ve only seen this primary doctor for two months. He was aggravated at me because I canceled a pain management doctors appointment, wasn’t in my network of insurance. So that would mean I would pay 100% insurance. My pain is already getting worse I’m not having the drug. Someone please help me. Thank you ## Unfortunately, there is no listing of which doctor will prescribe any given medication. Due to DEA directives, many PCPs are reluctant to do so, since it is...

Trying to verify oblong yellow with a V on one side and 3601 on the other. ## V 3601 is actually a generic Vicodin, containing Acetaminophen 325 mg + Hydrocodone 10 mg. Percocet contains Acetaminophen + Oxycodone. 2 different narcotic pain relievers, both containing Acetaminophen. ## Abe is correct, this tablet is manufactured by Qualitest Pharmaceuticals, and they do list it as containing 325mgs of Acetaminophen, and 10mgs of Hydrocodone. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Show me how the 10mg with no 325.want to see color size ## I'm sorry, but once a medication is available as a generic, it is manufactured by many different companies. All of the tablets are different and have different markings, so I cannot possibly post details on all of them for you. However, if you have a tablet that you are questioning and post back with its description and the markings on it, I will gladly check for you to see what it contains. Additionally, all Percocet tablets contain Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, if you are looking for information on one with the Acetaminophen, then it is just an Oxycodone tablet. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipat...

I have a number of pills that have 8001 or 1008 written on them. They are blue. I was told they are Percocet 5/325, is that true? ## the pill is a light blue color, also round and it has 8001/8001 on one side and nothing on the other and ive tried to look for it but it isnt coming up ## This tablet is manufactured by Contract Pharmacal and they list it as containing 25mgs of Diphenhydramine, which is a generic for Benadryl, it is used to treat allergic reactions, and as a sleep aid. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and drowsiness. Is there anything else I can help with?

pink with a 5114 and a v on it ## 5114 V is Acetaminophen 650 mg + Propoxyphene 100 mg a generic Darvocet ## Abe is correct, this was a very mild opiate narcotic that was discontinued several years ago, by the FDA, due to the cardiac dangers it caused, some of which were fatal, as well as the many overdoses it caused. They also warned it carried the risk of being habit forming. Thus, this is an old tablet, that is no longer available in the U.S. Are there any questions?

percocet 30 - is there such a drug? what color is it, and are there any written numbers on it? ## No, there is no Percocet that contains 30mgs of Oxycodone. There are, however, tablets that just contain 30mgs of Oxycodone, by itself, without the Acetaminophen. I could not possibly post descriptions of all of them. One is a very pale blue, often thought to be white, with a boxed M on one side and 30 on the other. Does this match your tablet? If not, post back with a more detailed description, such as shape and color and I will look it up for you. ## I found a pill w/ a M, boxed in on 1side; and 30 on half of the other side. Pill is small round and white, anyone know what med it is???? ## The pill with an M in a box and 30 on the opposite side contains 30mgs of Oxycodone, a generic for Ro...

I take percocet 10 for period cramps every month. I recently got hired for a new job and I have to take a urine test. The bad part here is that they are not prescribed to me. I'm scared I'm gonna miss out on a good job opputunity and I dont know what to do...can anyone help me?! ## Like most other narcotics, the Oxycodone in Percocet can be detectable in standard urine tests for approximately 4 to 5 days, after you last take it. There is no way, however, to give a precise time frame, because individuating factors will always have an effect, such as your metabolism, overall health, activity levels and fluid intake. Are there any other comments or questions? ## There is fake urine you can buy at the health good store my daughter usedit she it works great ## I have taken 10 percoce...

i was told that these would help opoid withdrawals? i was prescribed percocet 10mg for the last 2 years and decided i wanted to quit taking them, ive seen prescription pain killers ruin alot of lives and i dont want something like that to happen to me. anyway i havent been feeling good since i quit taking the medicine and a friend gave me these and said they would help make me feel better, i just wanted to get other opinions before a took them. thanks ## These contain 300mgs of Gabapentin, which is an anticonvulsant that's also used to treat some mood disorders and certain types of nerve pain… and to have any affect, they need to be taken for 4 to 6 weeks, so they really aren't going to do anything to help with withdrawals. I am new to the Jacksonville area from NY and my NY dr prescribed my script for lyrica and percocet 10mg because he knew there would be a gap between getting new ins. coverage and finding a new rhumetologist ( as I have fibromyalgia ) I have been to too many pharmacies to count only to be told they are "out" of the medication. So now here I am trying to start a new job and new life here in Jacksonville without my medication. Please help.... What do I do? ## Veronica: if your prescriptions are written by a Doctor in New York, I'm sorry to tell you NO PHARMACY in Arkansas will fill them. They can't. A friend said if I mix one pill of l484 with a percocet 512 that it intensifies the effect of the percocet.. Is this true? Does more acetaminophen make that happen? ## Hello, Todd! How are you? No, that is not true and it is not safe to do. Taking too much Acetaminophen in any 8 hour period, or within 24 hours could result in fatal toxicity. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## No that won't help intensify anything. It'll just make your stomach hurt. Make sure you eat a little before taking your Percocet

At age 50, had to take pain meds for the 1st time in my life ourside of hospital surgical.procedures. Been on Percocet 10/325 for almost 2 yrs now, with NO increase in quantity prescribed. In fact, I TRY to NOT take unless really needed. This month I had my Rx filled at a pharmacy newly added to my insurance plan as is closer to my home. BIG MISTAKE! They filled my Rd with these RP 10 325 tablets. I hadn't taken a pill in 15 hrs when sent hubby to pharmacy. He brought these home & altho I'd not seen this particular generic, thought nothing of it. I've had at least 3 or 4 diff generics throughout the almost 2yrs, and altho I best like the yellow larger round pills (? I dunno name brand), they ALL do basically the same thing? Not these! I took my 1st pill in 17hrs and went...

I am prescribed oxycodone 30 mg tablets every month. I ran out a few days early and I just wanted to know if I could take 10 mg Percocet in the same quantity to keep my levels up? ## The problem with taking so much Percocet is the Acetaminophen in it. The FDA lists the maximum recommended daily dose it to no more than 3,000mgs and taking 9 Percocet in a day would come really close to that. You might be okay to do this, if your doctor approves, but generally they don't like you to take more than 2, at once. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. When do you see your doctor for a new prescription? ## Yes BOO, take three Percoce...

10/325 generic percocet which is the best manufacturer for chronic pain ## Hi Em, Unfortunately because every brand/generic effects each person differently, the only honest way to go about finding out what works best, is to try out different manufacturers for yourself. That way you can also formulate your own valid opinion. What I can tell you though from reading a lot of posts on this site, is that Actavis (Formerly known as Watson) has been receiving a massive amount of complaints lately regarding the quality and efficacy of their generic Percocet tablets. So that's probably one company you'd want to steer clear from based on their recent track record. I hope this helps! ## I am a 53 year old grandmother, full-time student earning my bachelors in psychology counseling, then on...

I would like to know if 44157 is a percocet? If so, what kind of percocet? ## Hello, Tina! How are you? There is only one kind of Percocet, both it and it's generics contain Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, though there are a couple doses available. According to the NIH database, a tablet that is white with 44 over 157 on it contains 325mgs of Aspirin and is available over the counter. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for clearing up what a white pill with 44/157 on it is. Would you believe, I got this pill from a plastic bottle of Anacin. I have been taking percocet everyday for the past week but I am pregnant and I have my baby in 10 days. Will it be detected in me and my baby's system when I have her? ## Not if you stop now. Opiates have a short life and leave your system within 4 days. Drink a lot of water. ## You should, however, be made aware that there is a possibility of your baby being born addicted, since the active narcotic in Percocet is Oxycodone. And, if that is the case, the hospital will definitely notice and they will do more in-depth testing to discover what is causing the problem. Learn more Percocet details here. How much have you been taking? ## I have been taking up to 3to5 10mg. per day ## okay my friend just found out yesterday she was pregnant she has currently been taking 30 mg oxycodone she ...
