Percocet Before Prostate Biopsy

I'm to have a prostate biopsy soon which I understand is rather painful and I'm wondering if two Percocet 7.5-325 prior to the procedure would help reduce the pain? I will also be given valium by the Dr.

You shouldn't take anything, unless the doctor instructs you to do so.

The FDA warns that Percocet carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

What pre-biopsy instructions were you provided?

My doc prescribed/ok'd the Percocet along with the valium. The prostate biopsy was TOTALLY pain free.
